a england – She Walks In Beauty

10

And so has the first a england polish now found it’s way to my polish drawer. I saw two absolutely stunning manicures done with She Walks In Beauty and I couldn’t resist buying it anymore. These awesome glitter tips manicures can be found from The Swatchaholic and The Polished Perfectionist blogs. As soon as I realized I had already bought the green manicure’s Grace Green polish (surprisingly found it from a discount bin ;) ) I gave in and clicked She Walks In Beauty on my shopping cart. Now I also have the gorgeous purple Essence polish seen on The Swatchaholic’s photos on it’s way to me along with the three other Snow Jam polishes. (Thanks J ♥ ).

I decided to layer She Walks In Beauty with OPI Did You ‘ear About Van Gogh and instead of the tips I applied the glitter on the nail bed. I loved how subtle and beautiful this combination was. I think you can really see the true beauty and details of this polish better when it’s not applied on the whole nail. This polish has excellent formula and it’s just truly stunning. It’s definitely worth getting if you’re thinking about buying a england polishes :)

Different Dimension – Soft Kitty, Warm Kitty

10
Here’s my first indie polish, Different Dimension Soft Kitty, Warm Kitty. I love Big Bang Theory and I just had to get this polish for it’s name too. This is milky grey jelly with different size white, grey and holographic silver hexglitter. The polish lives up to it’s name and the result is soft and smooth, sandwich effect-y finish.

Polish itself is high quality, a little bit on the thicker side but applies very well. The larger glitter laid very flat on the nail and you can’t feel the edges through the top coat. I love that! Glitter came out of the bottle well after I kept it upside down for a bit and rolled it a couple of times before applying each coat. I also let the coats dry in between the application so the glitter didn’t start moving with the next coat. Next I’m going to try layering this with white, grey or baby blue polish. I’m very happy with my first indie purchase :)

On this mani I used two coats of base coat, three coats of Soft Kitty, Warm Kitty and Inm Out The Door Fast Drying Top Coat. Dry time for three coats was very fast with Inm top coat.

I ordered my polish from here.

Color Club Pardon My French Collection – Part 2

3

Here are the glitter polishes from the Pardon My French collection. These are very sheer and have multicolored glitter in them.

Hot Couture is peachy looking in the bottle but doesn’t leave much color on the nails.

Turn The Other Chic is fun yellow glitter and gives most coverage out of these three.

Si Vous Please! is clear slightly blue tinted polish. The hint of blue saves the day in this polish and even if it’s very sheer my yellow-ish nail tips look bright white with this one so you can wear it alone too.

These work the best when layered with the creme polishes from this collection and I’ll show you pics of that tomorrow :)

Hot Couture (3 coats)
Turn The Other Chic (2 coats)Si Vous Please! (2 coats)

Ruby Pumps for Christmas!

4

This is my actual Christmas manicure, China Glaze’s stunning Ruby Pumps. This is the most christmas-y polish I own. I meant to do a little Konading too but i ran out of time. Oh well, Ruby Pumps is just perfect on it own :)

More green nails – Color Club Under The Mistletoe with Sally Hansen Glow

6

Green manicure once again :D This time I wanted to try my new Under The Mistletoe shade, the green glitter polish from Color Club’s Wonderland collection. Since removing glitter polish is still big pain in the butt (IMO) I decided to put regular polish underneath it and I chose to use Sally Hansen’s shade Glow.

Under The Mistletoe is a sheer green polish with a lot of silver glitter in it. It looked so sheer in the bottle I thought it would be a good idea to apply a couple of coats of Glow first and only one coat of glitter polish. This helps the removing process too. The gold shimmer on Sally Hansen’s Glow transformed the silver glitter in Under The Mistletoe into a more gold-ish shade. The effect doesn’t fully show in these pics but the result was really beautiful :)

In this mani I used: OPI NNS x1, Sally Hansen Glow x2, Under The Mistletoe x1 and Poshe on top as usual.

New Mavala glitters – Blue and Purple

5

I saw the new Mavala Fall 2009 collection Happy Colours in a store and decided to buy two shades to test them out. I ended up getting Glitter Purple and Glitter blue. The entire collection has six glitter polishes. Cos I’m still traumatized from removing a glitter mani last night I didn’t want to test these on my nails quite yet ;)

Both of the polishes have a clear base with colored glitter. The clear base polish made me think they might not be very opaque. These might be better for layering instead of being worn alone. I’m also thinking about pimping them a little bit. Maybe adding more glitter and/or colored polish.

In the bottle these shades look bright and beautiful but a quick test on a piece of plastic tape reveals the truth. Regardless of the beautiful colors these have very little coverage. I applied quite a lot of polish on the tape and you won’t have that much glitter on your nails with just one coat. Though I think these will spark up your manicure nicely when you layer them with the right kind of polish.

Getting over my fear of glitter polish!

5

I managed to destroy my green Aragon manicure pretty fast and I tried to save the situation with a coat of Color Club Magic Attraction glitter polish. This is from last year’s Color Club Glitter Vixen collection that had seven gorgeous glitter polishes in it.

With this mani I’m also trying to get rid of my fear for glitter polish or more like the fear of removing it. Glitter polishes are absolutely gorgeous to look at but removing them is a big pain in the butt :/ This time I’m going to use acetone nail polish remover and let it sit on the nail for a bit before trying to remove the polish. We’ll see how that works out this time or will I once again swear that I’ll never use glitter polish again ;)

In the pic I have one coat of Magic Attraction and one coat of Poshe on top of my dark green OPI Here Today…Aragon Tomorrow manicure.

GOSH 548 Green Hawaii

8

GOSH Nail Laquer has quite a nice color range. This is my first one from this brand, 548 Green Hawaii. Grass/nucreal green shade with a lot of multi-color glitter. The green on this kinda reminds me of hard to find China Glaze Moonpool polish. This one looks pretty cool on your nails. Perfect for a wild night out ;)

I also tested this one only to swatch it for you guys so again I can’t comment on drying, etc. This was quite thick in the bottle and surprisingly sheer. It needed three coats to be opaque. So in the pic there’s only three coats of wet polish.

Big big plus for a very neutral smell!
