Color Club – Best Dressed List

3

Here’s something a little more neutral after the leopard nails. This kind of shade is always a good choice when your nails aren’t an even length and/or shape. It doesn’t stand out too much and make the little flaws more obvious. This was a perfect polish to choose for my nails right now. Caramel-y shade also flatters my warm skintone (which looks cold in this photo for some reason). I find this shade to be quite elegant and I have to use this again when my nails are longer.

Best Dressed List is quite well pigmented and applies like a dream. One coat was enough for an opaque result for my nails. Longer nails will require two coats. Drying time was also quite quick with Seche Vite.

In this mani I used: Poshe Nail Strengthening Treatment base coat x2, Best Dressed List x1 and Seche Vite on top.

Color Club – Pucci-Licious

5

I got tired of the pink glitter on my nails and decided to cheer myself up with some nail polish. I chose Color Club’s Pucci-Licious for that and it did it’s job perfectly. This shade is from CC’s neon collection although it’s not exactly a neon color.

IRL my nails look great but on the photo they look too big and tips are too round. Camera has no mercy on me and my nails as usual ;)

This is an interesting color. On the other hand it’s strikingly beautiful and then again it’s just your everyday creme. Either way I love it and on these nails it looks fierce.

Quality on this is excellent and it’s opaque with two coats (obviously not a neon shade then). This dries semi-matte so you shine junkies out there need a topcoat with this one.

In this mani I used Pucci-Licious x2 and Seche Vite on top.

My skin tone on the photo looks weird cos I had to adjust the camera settings and also adjust the colors with photoshop. This was one of those pain-in-the-ass shades to photograph. No matter what you do it looks too blue *sigh* I think I got the color to look pretty accurate though (on my monitor anyways).

Color Club – Reddy Or Not

5

Näin joulunaikaan punaiset kynnet kuuluvat asiaan. Niinpä päätinkin tällä kertaa lakata kynteni Color Clubin Reddy Or Not sävyllä. Tämä on yksi täydellisimmistä omistamistani punaisista creme lakoista. Kirkas paloautonpunainen, oranssipohjainen sävy on todella näyttävä. Jos haluat omistaa ainoastaan yhden punaisen creme lakan tämä olisi erittäin hyvä valinta.

Christmas time is here and what would be a more perfect color for a mani than bright red? So here we go, Color Club’s Reddy Or Not. This is one of the most perfect red cremes I own. Bright, orange based, firetruck red shade. If you only want one red creme this is a great choice.

Reddy Or Not is also perfect quality. It applies like butter, is very well pigmented and dries fast. Two coats was enough for my nails.

In this mani I used: OPI NNS x2, Reddy Or Not x2 and Poshe on top.

OPI – Big Apple Red

5

Bright red mani for a change. This time it’s OPI’s Big Apple Red. Many people think that red polishes are boring and only old ladies have red nails. My opinion is that red nails are elegant, sexy and never out of style. There’s also so many shades of bright red that everyone can find one that goes with their skintone.

Big Apple Red is true bright red creme polish. It’s slightly orange based and leans more towards warm than cold. This is really a classic red, just the kind that every nail polish fanatic should have in their collection.

This one is quite thin in the bottle and like many red cremes it’s a bit sheer. Since this applies perfectly and dries fast there’s no problem with applying 3-4 coats. This is really shiny on it’s own and top coats makes it even more shiny.

In this mani I used: OPI NNS x1, Big Apple Red x3 and Poshe on top.

OPI Bubble Bath

11

After all the crazy bright colors lately I was feeling a need to get something a little less “in your face”. OPI Bubble Bath is muted and pale, pink-ish shade. This is quite an elegant shade.

Bubble Bath isn’t the easiest one to apply. It’s quite sheer and after three coats there’s still a visible nail line. IMO the best option with this is to apply 2 coats and leave the result visibly sheer.

In this mani I used: Bubble Bath x3 and Seche Vite.

OPI – The “IT” Color

0

First of all I’m very sorry about the blog silence for the past couple of weeks. Life’s been a bit busy for me lately but I’m back now. I have a few new nail polish bottles too but I haven’t had time to swatch them or not to mention photographing. Luckily I have a few more pics that I haven’t shown you yet. I also still have long nails on those pics. At the moment my nails are actually quite short and they started peeling after breaking off. Peeling seems to have calmed down a bit so maybe I can start growing them longer again very soon.

And then to the point, which is a perfect yellow creme polish, OPI The “IT” Color. This somewhat dirty yellow shade is a perfect accessory and you can wear it around the year if you feel the color suits you. This polish is not too bright or “in your face” shade, instead it’s just perfect and unique. I saw a photo of this polish on The Polish Addict‘s blog and I just had to have it for myself too.

The “IT” Color’s application is not the easiest possible and it requires three coats for an opaque result. It dried quite fast with Poshe. In this mani I used: Nail Tek II x2, The “IT” Color x3 and Poshe on the top.

China Glaze – Bahamian Escape

6

I decided to show you yet another polish from the China Glaze Bahama Blues collection. This is the last one I own from that collection, Bahamian Escape. I love this light blue creme polish, the shade is so fresh. My first Konad order also just arrived and this color just scream for some Konading, IMO ;D

Bahamian Escape is a bit on the thick side and the application isn’t the best possible, but it’s workable. Two coats is enough for opaque result and this one dries pretty quickly. In this mani I used: Nail Tek II x1, Bahamian Escape x2 and Seche Vite on top.

My laptop is still being fixed but as far as I know it is ready and I should get it back early next week. Then I can get back to my normal posting rhythm.

This week I also experienced the horror of nail breakage :´( I broke two nails at work and I had to trim all of them short. Feels so weird. Well I still have a few swatch pics for you with the long nails and hopefully my nails grow back long soon.

China Glaze – Bermuda Breakaway

2

And here’s another polish from the China Glaze Bahama Blues collection, Bermuda Breakaway. This is a gorgeous blue creme polish with a hint of purple. Absolutely stunning shade. I didn’t expect it to be this nice on my nails based on what it looks like in the bottle, but it sure is. It is so nice to be positively surprised sometimes :)

Bermuda Breakaway was quite thin in the bottle and applied oh so smoothly. Opaque in two coats. I only tested this polish to swatch it so I have nothing to say on drying time or how long it goes without chipping. I’ll do a full mani with this soon and I’ll edit the post later to let you know how it works out. So on this photo there’s only two coats of polish with no base or topcoat. It was photographed wet.

Once again my picture don’t do justice to the polish and I think IRL you can see the hint of purple much better than on my photo. My camera refuses to photograph shades like this correctly. I really need a new cam :(

China Glaze – Pink Underground

6

This is China Glaze Pink Underground from Operation: Colour collection. Lovely Barbie pink is muted enough to not look tacky on this dark time of the year here in Finland. This polish has a fine pink shimmer that is only noticeable in sunlight or under a very bright light. You could even mistake this shade for a creme polish.

This is a perfect pink shade for a year-round use. I haven’t been a big fan of pinks before and this is a good shade to encourage me to try out brighter pinks much more often that I’ve done lately.

Pink Underground was quite thick in the bottle but the application wasn’t that bad. This manicure is two coats of color polish but I think it could’ve used three. This mani stayed perfect for three days. I used: Nail Tek Intensive Therapy II x2, Pink Underground x2 and Seche Vite dry fast top coat.

I have decided to add a watermark on my photos from now on. As far as I know, my photos haven’t been used without permission yet, but I’d like to do what I can to prevent this from happening in the future. I hope it doesn’t bother you guys too much :)

China Glaze – Revolution

0

Here we go with the red again. I just love red nail polish and this one is going to help me find my lost Holidays mood. This polish is Revolution and it’s also from China Glaze Operation: Colour collection.

Lovely, bright red creme polish is perfect for one of my Christmas manicures. Looking at the bottle I expected this one to be even brighter red, but like Code Orange this seems to be a little muted too. Perfect for the season and actually quite sophisticated looking red. I added two rhinestones on the ring fingers to add a little more festive feeling to this mani.

Revolution was quite thin and applied like butter. Was also almost opaque with two coats, some might want to add a third one though. This one also dried pretty quickly using Seche Vite. Rhinestones are from Kiss Rhinestone Accents package that holds 70 stones.

Update to my nail tear drama. The nail is still in one piece and I haven’t added the gel on top of it yet. I went to get some nail glue and applied that to the tear. It’s been holding on for about 24 hours now and I hope to be able to go on this way for a while to grow out the tear. The LCN Nail Repair Film i tried first was completely useless in this case.
