Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat – Fuzz-Sea

4

It’s December and it’s time for all the Holiday manicures and posts but first let me get this Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat manicure out of the way. This is two coat of Fuzz-Sea dabbed on to Color Club Poetic Hues finished with a coat of HK Girl top coat. This would’ve looked a lot better if I used a tape to help make a crisp line instead of freehanding it. I love the colors though and I’ll most certainly dig Fuzz-Sea out of my polish drawer when spring gets here again.

Color Club – Poetic Hues

0

Today’s review is Poetic Hues from the Color Club Harlem Lights collection for Winter 2013. This is a cream colored good quality creme. Again great looking alone and a good base for nail art or glitters. I don’t have anything like this in my stash so this was a welcome addition.

On this mani I used two coats of Poetic Hues with G & G HK Girl top coat.

Color Club seems to have found a good formula for these new cremes cos the application on this was also excellent. You would think this was a nightmare to apply looking at the color but it really was anything but. A little bit streaky on the first coat and evened out perfectly on the second coat.

Jindie Nails – Fall Chic Collection

2

Happy Sunday everyone! Today I have an awesome post for you,  the whole Fall Chic collection of five polishes for fall 2013 from Jindie Nails. Jindie Nails is my favorite indie brand and I absolutely love all these polishes too. Jen has really perfected her formula. Crelly bases are so easy and smooth to apply. Jelly bases are incredibly juicy and the shimmer ones have such awesome glow and depth. I love Jindie Nails ♥

Jindie Nails has also started using new 9 ml bottles for her medium size bottles. Brush is thin but easy to use and I had no issues with it. The bottle itself is tall and skinny. It was very easy to get the polish and the glitter out and at no point did I feel like the bottle was going to tip over. I quite like these new bottles!

So let’s start this with Breakfast at Tiffany’s Cousins “a teal crelly with matte maroon dots, lime green holo dots, matte blue dots and more”.

This is two coats with G & G HK Girl top coat.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s Cousins has that great Jindie Nails crelly formula. Excellent application, opaque with two coats but still creates an sandwich effect. Shiny on it’s own, super shiny with HK Girl. I love the glitter combination on this. Very Beautiful!

Next we have What Are You Smokin’ Mirrors “a medium gray crelly with gold and silver shimmer and dots in 3 sizes”.

This is two coats with Glitter Food and G & G HK Girl top coat.

What Are You Smokin’ Mirrors is perfect for the fall season. Good  and easy application. I love how the gold glitter pops from the grey base. This is very beautiful and unique.

Here’s Rhythm & Blue “a deep neon blue jelly with gold flakes and medium and small gold dots.  This dries to a satin matte finish”.

This is two coats alone and with HK Girl top coat.

Rhythm & Blue is a very vibrant blue with an excellent formula and application. First photo shows the satin matte finish and the second is with top coat. I probably should’ve applied a third coat but the nail line wasn’t as visible in real life as it appears to be on the photos here. This is very pretty with top coat but I actually prefer it more without. Satin matte finish is perfect for this one.

Then we have the amazing Midnight Rainbow “a black jelly with  a rainbow of small, medium and large holographic and metallic dots in an assortment of colors. The best part about this polish is the intense gold/violet shimmer!  It’s also loaded with iridescent purple/blue/green glitters throughout”.

This is a coat of Essie Licorice (black creme), two coats of Midnight Rainbow and HK Girl top coat.

O M G !! This is just too awesome! I’ve seen a lot of swatch photos of this alone and it’s totally drool worthy that way too. I just decided to try it with a black creme base and oh boy how that made the shimmer in this explode. This truly looks like a midnight rainbow. Photos don’t even do justice to how amazing this polish truly looks. It sparkles and glows! Application was good and this is very packed with glitter. I even let some of it drop back in the bottle. Just so awesome!

And I saved my favorite for last (is anyone surprised it’s a green one?) :D This is Shimmer Me Timbers “a deep emerald green jelly with intense gold shimmer, circles, squares and hex in golds, teal, magenta, copper and more”.

This is two coats of Illamasqua Rampage (green jelly), two coats of Shimmer Me Timbers and HK Girl top coat.

I said O M G !! about Midnight Rainbow but for this I don’t even have words! Green perfection in the bottle! Like Midnight Rainbow I’ve seen a lot of swatch photos of this alone and I figured I should try it with a green jelly base and I didn’t go wrong there. This looks amazing on it’s own but the green base takes it to another level. It almost looks radioactive. The depth and the glow! Wow, just WOW! Again the application was nice and smooth. Love, love LOVE this!!

Jindie Nails for Halloween

0

It’s that spooky time of the year again! I have prepared with a lot of candy and some nail polish. Today I have two nail polishes created by Jindie Nails. Blood, Bath & Beyond is from the Halloween 2013 collection and Barbie’s Nightmare is Mei Mei’s Signatures exclusive for Halloween.

First we have Blood, Bath & Beyond “Blood red jelly with intense violet/gold shimmer, lavender and violet metallic and holographic dots, gold metallic and holographic large, small and medium dots, red large, small and medium metallic dots and purple iridescent sparks throughout”.

This is two coats of Blood Bath & Beyond with G & G HK Girl top coat.

Blood, Bath & Beyond is a great quality blood red jelly. This is so juicy and squishy! Application was smooth and easy. I didn’t even turn the bottle upside down before application but that is the thing to do if you have trouble getting the glitter out of the bottle. You should allow some time for the first layer to dry before applying second or the bigger glitter pieces might start dragging.

The second polish of the day is Mei Mei’s Signatures exclusive for Halloween 2013. This is how Barbie’s Nightmare is described: “White crelly with black irregular glitters, moon, dot, star, square, silver dot, neon pink square, grey moon, grey dot and red star”.

On the photos there’s three thin coats of Barbie’s Nightmare with G & G HK Girl top coat.

Barbie’s Nightmare has a perfect white crelly base. Milky and sheer enough to create a great sandwich effect but still opaque on three coats. A little streaky on the first coat but evened out nicely on second and third coat. This was actually quite easy to apply and just perfection compared to some white polishes. I did turn the bottle upside down before the application.

Lynnderella – Once Upon a Prince

0

Today I have the last polish from the Lynnderella “Once Upon a Prince and more Man Candy” collection for you. Here are the links to the reviews of the other eight shades in this collection:

Mr. Darcy
The One Who Got Away
Mr. Pink
Tidy Whities
It’s Raining Shaman
Oh Eric…!
AquaMan Candy
The Full Minty

This one is Once Upon a Prince and here’s how Lynnderella describes on her website“Once Upon a Prince has multiple purples accented with scattered multiglitter in a rich, translucent purple and blue shimmered purple base”. I usually layer these types of glitters with a purple, lavender or black base. This time I decided to do something different and since I had a pretty sandy gold shimmer polish sitting on my review pile I thought why not try that. I think the combination worked out great and this looked very pretty in real life.

For this mani I used Color Club Sugar Rays, two thin coats of Once Upon a Prince and G & G HK Girl top coat.

The formula on this was very good and the application was easy. This would probably be fully opaque on it’s own with three carefully applied coats. This applied so nice and thin that wearing this alone is a possibility too.

Lynnderella polishes are available to European customers at Norway Nails. You can use the code “POLISHAHOLIC” to get -10% off of any purchase. Norway Nails offers a wide range of gorgeous indies and other polish brands. You can also follow them on Facebook and Twitter.

Color Club – Sugar Rays

2

Happy Sundays lovelies! Here’s another new polish from Color Club. This is Sugar Rays from the the Harlem Lights Winter 2013 collection. Sand-y gold polish with light pink shimmer. Very pretty and makes a great base for glitter or nail art.

For this mani I used three coats of Sugar Rays with G & G HK Girl top coat.

Formula on this was good and application was smooth. I did three coats though two will be enough for shorter nails. This is actually quite sheer on the first coat but applies so evenly you can wear it like that if you only want some shimmer on your nails.

OPI Liquid Sand – Make Him Mine

5

I just had to test out the new camera even if I have really no idea how to use it properly ;) Either way I managed to take a photo with the camera’s auto-settings. I think I’ll be using the auto-settings for now and learn more as I use it.

So this is one of the new OPI Liquid Sand polishes for the Mariah Carey Holiday 2013, Make Him Mine. This is a beautiful rosy color that is actually a bit warmer IRL than it looks on my photos. Very sparkly and pretty!

For this mani I used two coats of Make Him Mine, no undies (no need cos I have the UV-gel layover to protect my nails) or top coat.

The formula on this was very good. Like all the Liquid Sands I have tried this applies easily and perfectly. Two coats was enough for opaque result and the dry time was quick. Removal process was also quite easy compared to your regular glitter polish.

IsaDora Sugar Crush – 102 Metal Crush

3

I got an opportunity to try some new fall shades from IsaDora Color Crush polishes. This is 102 Metal Crush, amazing grey-ish lilac texture polish with some silver glitter. I TOTALLY love this color! It’s oh so pretty and sparkly!

On this manicure I used two coats of Metal Crush. The application was just perfection. I didn’t even have to do a cleanup with a brush and acetone like I usually do. Though you might want to avoid a cleanup with a polish like this anyways or you could end up with shimmer up to your elbows ;) Just be careful and take your time with the application and the result will be perfect.

The removal was very easy using acetone free nail polish remover. This is nothing like glitter polish and even if it looks like a pain in the butt to remove it really isn’t. Naturally there was glitter and shimmer all over my hands right after the removing the nail polish but washing my hands with soap got rid of almost all of it.

Lynnderella – Mr. Darcy

0

Here’s a polish from Lynnderella Once upon a Prince and other Man Candy collection. This is Mr. Darcy. I LOVE the name! I’ve seen the Pride and Prejudice (TV miniseries) so many times and I never get tired of it.

Here’s how Lynnderella describes this polish “Mr. Darcy was inspired by devotion to and deep love for chivalrous gentlemen who have good manners and behave courteously. It has multiple shades of grey, as well as lavender, gunmetal, periwinkle, and navy as well as a kiss of red in a clear base”.

I decided to layer this over the dark navy blue Color Club Williamsburg manicure. Dark base made the black glitter in this pretty much disappear but brought out the other colors quite nicely. This would look great over a lavender or a light pink polish too but in my world Mr. Darcy can not be associated with a girly base color ;)

This is one generous coat of Mr. Darcy over Color Club Williamsburg with G & G HK Girl top coat.

The formula on this was very good and easy to apply. I had no issues, none what so ever.

Color Club – Williamsburg

1

Happy Saturday lovelies! Today I have another polish from the new Color Club fall 2013 Girl About Town Collection for you. This is Williamsburg, a deep navy blue jelly with blue shimmer and what looks like micro-flakies on the macroshot. Very beautiful color that’s perfect for the holiday season. Add some gold or silver nail art and you’re ready to party!

On this mani I used two coats of Williamsburg and G & G HK Girk top coat.

This has a good formula and two coats was enough for my nails. Again, a tiny bit streaky on the first coat but evened out nicely with the second one.
