Jindie Nails – A History of Violets

2

Here we go again with another Jindie Nails glitter topper from the Glitter Topper Mod Quad collection. I have previously reviewed Sparkle on the Vine and Dancing with the Stars. The fourth and final shade Eclectric is also coming up soon :)

So this is A History Of Violets and here’s how it’s described on the Jindie Nails website: “It has a mix of white, periwinkle, lilac, lavender, wine, opaque matte burgundy, opaque matte light purple, opaque matte dark purple hex, dots, stars, short bars (just a few). squares and lots and lots of purple and silver shimmer throughout.   This polish features a few new glitters I haven’t used before, including matte gray and white dots & moons”.

On this manicure I used two coats of Essie Lilacism, two coats of A History of Violets, coat of Glitter Food and G & G HK Girl top coat.

Application was excellent, no issues. Glitters applied nice and evenly, no fishing, dabbing or placing needed. This is a very pretty glitter topper and I’m loving the colors for fall time. Layering this over an icy blue will make it perfect for winter too.

This will be available soon at jindienails.com!

Crazy Polish Lady – Sand in My Flip-flops

7

Here’s Sand in My Flip-flops, another shade from the new limited edition Summer Is Up collection by Crazy Polish Lady. The glitter-mix on this is quite similar to the one on Yellow Polka Dot Bikini and the base is a lovely neutral sand-y beige. I love the combination of colorful glitter and soft, nude crelly base. This is a very fun looking polish without being too in your face :)

This is two coats with G & G HK Girl top coat.

The formula is absolutely fabulous. Application is smooth, flawless and opaque in just two coats. Glitter applies evenly and no fishing needed. Perfect! If you haven’t tried any of Sophie’s polishes yet, you’re missing out! Each and every one I have tried have been nothing short of excellent!

Crazy Polish Lady lives in Portugal and she ships internationally. She doesn’t have her own store yet but you can message her on her Facebook page or email her carvalho.sophie(@)gmail.com and place an order. Some of her polishes are now also available at Mei Mei’s Signatures.

Try It On Tuesday – China Glaze Fancy Pants

4

Tuesday’s here again and it’s time to show you what I dug out of my untrieds pile this week. If you’d like to join this very relaxed weekly challenge just contact Sassy Paints :)

This is two coats of China Glaze Fancy Pants with G & G HK Girl top coat.

Application was ok, a little streaky on the first coat. Evened out nicely with the second coat though and that was actually enough. I was a little surprised cos I was under an impression that this is a little on the sheer side. I have no complaints really. Not a very unique shade but really pretty and I love the subtle pink shimmer that isn’t really visible on the photo.

Lynnderella – Opal Intuition

6

Happy Saturday! I hope everyone’s having a great weekend. Today I have another Lynnderella review for you. This is Opal Intuition from the Talismans and Birthstones collection. This has a lot of iridescent glitter and holographic micro-glitter in a sheer shimmer base. The base is blue toned. This can be layered on any basecolor you want to. I tested this over baby blue and black cremes. So let’s see what it looks like.

This is two coats of Color Club Take Me To Your Chateau, two coats of Opal Intuition and G & G HK Girl top coat.

And here is a coat of Color Club Where’s The Soiree?, two coats of Opal Intuition and G & G HK Girl top coat.

Opal Intuition has a good, a bit gel like formula that applies well. As you can see, two different base colors make it look like two completely different polishes. Personally I prefer this over the black base. It really glows and black brings out the beautiful blue shimmer. Either way this is a real beauty!

Jindie Nails – 1 Year Anniversary Duo

0

Jindie Nails had their first anniversary on July 16th. To celebrate the occasion Jen created the Anniversary Duo that is nothing short of awesome. I know I always say this BUT I absolutely love these polishes :D

Let’s start with the blue one, Anniversary Seaquins. This has an amazing dusty, smoky blue base packed with shimmer and all kinds of glitter. Application was just perfect. No issues at all. To my surprise this was almost opaque on two coats. I did apply the third one though. The base color is just beautiful and will be great for fall and winter too. This is the kind of the shade you can wear a year round.

This is three thin coats of polish and G & G HK Girl top coat.

Gorgeous, right?

Aaaand then there is the magnificent Purple Universary. I LOVE circle glitter and jellies so you can imagine my joy when I saw the first bottle shots not to mention actually holding the bottle. This is so amazing! The deep purple, true jelly base and all that circular glitter. Aaaahh! This is definitely on the top three of the most beautiful polishes I own. This is like universe on your nails.

The application on this was also perfect. No problems and all the glitter came out of the bottle easily, no fishing needed. This is three coats and it looks gorgeous but for the next time I wear this I have an application game plan ;) I’ll do first coat without any glitter, second with glitter, thin third coat without again and then the last one with glitter. That’ll help me build even more depth to this stunning beauty :)

So this is three coats of Purple Universary with Glitter Food and G & G HK Girl top coat.

Crazy Polish Lady – Yellow Polka Dot Bikini

4

Today I have a new Crazy Polish Lady shade for you from her limited edition Summer is Up collection. This is Yellow Polka Dot Bikini, a yellow crelly with multicolored glitter. The yellow shade is nice and smooth looking. This is kinda like banana ice cream with rainbow sprinkles. Pretty and sweet :D

This is three thin coats of Yellow Polka Dot Bikini with G & G HK Girl top coat.

Application was as perfect as it has been with all the Crazy Polish Lady polishes I have tried. For a yellow polish application was just great, no dragging or balding. The result is smooth enough that there was really no need for Glitter Food. I used three coats but two will be enough for shorter nails. Great shade for summer and springtime :)

Femme Fatale – Fatal Attraction

0

Happy hump day! Today I have the last one of my four new Femme Fatale polishes, Fatal Attraction. This is a very beautiful shade packed with holographic micro-glitter and shimmer. Base is somewhat sheer and jelly-ish giving this polish some depth. Perfect color for fall! Love this!

This is three thin coats of Fatal Attraction and two coats of G & G HK Girl top coat.

Fatal Attraction applies well and smoothly. Though you should be careful with the application cos cleanup with this one is not easy. Mess your cuticles, do the cleanup and you might end up with shimmer up to your elbows ;) This also dries a little gritty, hence the two coats of HK Girl.

Femme Fatale polishes and cosmetics can be bought from their website if you live in Australia. International customers can find Femme Fatale polishes from LlaroweHarlow & CoNorway NailsShoppe Ecclecticco and Ledouxnuage.

You can also follow Femme Fatale on social media: FacebookTwitter and Instagram.

Try It On Tuesday – Illamasqua Load

2

Here we go again with another untried. This time it’s Illamasqua Load. If you can get past the image the name and color can create ;) this one is actually quite lovely. Very unique color in my collection and makes a great base for layering glitter or nail art.

This is three coats with G & G HK Girl top coat.

Application is somewhat challenging but three thin, careful coats does the trick. Beautiful creme and the name cracks me up every time ;D

Oldie but Goodie – OPI Ate Berries in the Canaries

2

I’m starting a new theme post series on my blog. This might not be a weekly thing but every now and then these posts will pop up. For “Oldie but Goodie” posts I will go through my stash and pick a polish that isn’t untried but has been forgotten for quite a while and deserves to be used again. This way I’m trying to get a little more use out of my evergrowing stash and not just use polishes once and then forget about them.

For my first post I chose OPI Ate Berries in the Canaries from the Fall 2009 Spain collection. This is two coats with G & G HK Girl top coat.

Ate Berries in the Canaries is easy to apply and is opaque on two coats. This is pink-ish purple-ish berry-ish I dunno what color creme. Very pretty on it’s own and definitely deserved to get out of the Helmer again.

So this was my first  “Oldie but Goodie” post. Feel free to adopt this idea and use it too since I know there’s a lot of you ladies (and few gentlemen) out there who’s stash has a lot of forgotten beauties in it :)

Lynnderella – Amethyst Devotion

0

Late Sunday post for me, but I’m here now with an awesome glitter polish to show you. This is Lynnderella Amethyst Devotion from the Talismans and Birthstones collection. Amazing sheer base polish with a ton of purple glitter along with some red and pink. This can be layered over a lot of different base colors and this time I decided to use pink-ish purple creme. I also intend to do a gradient mani over a black base as soon as possible. This one is so sparkly and absolutely stunning IRL.

In this mani I used two coats of OPI Ate Berries in the Canaries, one coat of Amethyst Devotion (plus some dabbing here and there) with a generous coat of G & G HK Girl top coat.

Amethyst Devotion applies well and cos it’s so packed with glitter one coat is enough. Two coats would probably be almost opaque. This is the kind of polish that is very hard to capture accurately. It’s complex and there’s so much shiny glitter and sparkles. You really need to see this in real life to truly appreciate it.
