More green nails – Color Club Under The Mistletoe with Sally Hansen Glow

6

Green manicure once again :D This time I wanted to try my new Under The Mistletoe shade, the green glitter polish from Color Club’s Wonderland collection. Since removing glitter polish is still big pain in the butt (IMO) I decided to put regular polish underneath it and I chose to use Sally Hansen’s shade Glow.

Under The Mistletoe is a sheer green polish with a lot of silver glitter in it. It looked so sheer in the bottle I thought it would be a good idea to apply a couple of coats of Glow first and only one coat of glitter polish. This helps the removing process too. The gold shimmer on Sally Hansen’s Glow transformed the silver glitter in Under The Mistletoe into a more gold-ish shade. The effect doesn’t fully show in these pics but the result was really beautiful :)

In this mani I used: OPI NNS x1, Sally Hansen Glow x2, Under The Mistletoe x1 and Poshe on top as usual.

Sinful Colors – San Francisco

6

I got this Sinful Colors shade San Francisco from my trip to USA in August. Took me this long to try it out.

This is a really bright kinda poison green looking to me and it has a lot of micro-glitter in it. Shade is gorgeous and as a big green lover I just had to have it ;)

San Francisco is surprisingly sheer and it takes three coats for longer nails to be opaque. It also took quite a long time to dry but the cheap price and the stunning green shade makes the negative things much easier to handle. This lasted without chipping for several days and the removing wasn’t too bad either. Next time I’ll use two coats of base coat though cos this dyed my nails nasty green.

In this mani I used: OPI NNS x1, San Francisco x3 and Poshe on top.

Revlon Runway Collection – Sequins

2

Finally I have time to write my review about Revlon Runway Collection nails. I glued these to my sisters nails early November. The model is Sequins and the length is medium.

It was easy to find a right size for each nail and there was enough of these nails to have some spare ones too. The package includes everything you need. The package also has simple and easy to follow instructions printed on it.

Before applying the nails I buffed her natural nails lightly and wiped the dust off. Gluing the nails on was a mess at the first try and I definately need to practise that some more. I got glue everywhere and almost got my fingers stuck to my sisters hands. There was also quite a bit of air bubbles between the nails. So it didn’t go too well from my part.

My sister on the other hand was very pleased with the results. She said the nails look and feel very natural. Regardless of me messing up the gluing process the nails stayed on perfect for 10 days. After a week she filed them shorter and applied a coat of nail polish. The nails also didn’t fall off by themselves and she used acetone to soak them off.

I’d also like to mention that my sister has tried both acrylic and gel nails before and they both started falling off after a few days. So she was more than happy to see how well these worked for her.

I also only have a positive opinion about these nails and the air bubbles you can see in the photo have nothing to do with the quality of the nails and everything to do with me being a dumbass gluing them on ;) My sister has asked me to glue new nails on for her for Christmas and I hope I can do a little better that time :)

L’oréal Resist & Shine Titanium – 732 Black Violet

7

I bought my first polish from the new L’oréal Resist & Shine Titanium Blackgloss collection, shade 732 Black Violet. This is a very dark violet and in some lights it just looks black. In a little bit brighter light you can see the violet shade clearly though. Polish also has fine shimmer in it but you can’t really see it on the nails under a normal light. This is a very beautiful polish and I have already today gotten compliments on how pretty my nails look ;)

Black Violet is quite thick in the bottle but not impossible to apply. You shouldn’t even try to apply two coats of this cos it’s just too thick on the first coat. In this case thickness doesn’t really matter though cos this polish is so highly pigmented that you’ll have an opaque result with just one coat. Regardless of a thick layer of polish it dried very fast with Poshe.

I’m actually a bit surprised on the quality of this polish. Just one coat and a very intense and opaque result. I think I’m gonna at least get the blue and turquoise shades from this collection too. These are on stores for limited time only so go get yours while you can.

In this mani I used: OPI NNS x1, Black Violet x1 and Poshe on top. Pics taken under a very bright artificial light.

Black for Halloween! OPI – Baby It’s “Coal” Outside!

6

I’ll continue with the same theme and now it’s charcoal black for the Halloween week manicure. OPI Baby It’s “Coal” Outside! is from the Holiday In Toyland 2008 collection.

Baby It’s “Coal” Outside! is black, shiny polish with silver micro-glitter. This applies pretty well and needs at least two coats for an opaque result. With Poshe this dried quickly too and the result is SHINY! Perfect shade for the time of the year and Halloween parties :D

In this mani I used OPI NNS x1, Baby It’s “Coal” Outside! x2 and Poshe Super Fast Drying TopCoat.

Borghese – Espresso Brown

2

Then more shopping from my trip to States. Borghese Espresso Brown is coffee brown polish with lighter brown shimmer. This is a spicy shade that is perfect for fall time. This was my first experience with Borghese nail polish and I’m happy with the quality.

Espresso Brown is a bit on the thick side and the first coat applied unevenly. The second coat fixed all that and it looked perfect. Two coats was also enough for opaque result and this dried fast.

In this mani I used: OPI NNS x1, Espresso Brown x2 and Poshe Super Fast Drying Topcoat.

OPI Big Apple Red with Essie Matte About You

7

Mailman finally delivered my Essie Matte About You topcoat last week and I just had to test it on my OPI Big Apple Red mani. This changes your mani into matte finish in front of your eyes and dries really fast. I really like the matte finish on this bright red mani. Matte About You turns any one of your manis into matte and that brings a welcome change to the regular look. I’m more than happy with this product :)

In this mani I first had the day before’s OPI NNS x1, Big Apple Red x3 and Poshe on top. Then the following day I applied one coat of Matte About You on top of all that.

OPI – Big Apple Red

5

Bright red mani for a change. This time it’s OPI’s Big Apple Red. Many people think that red polishes are boring and only old ladies have red nails. My opinion is that red nails are elegant, sexy and never out of style. There’s also so many shades of bright red that everyone can find one that goes with their skintone.

Big Apple Red is true bright red creme polish. It’s slightly orange based and leans more towards warm than cold. This is really a classic red, just the kind that every nail polish fanatic should have in their collection.

This one is quite thin in the bottle and like many red cremes it’s a bit sheer. Since this applies perfectly and dries fast there’s no problem with applying 3-4 coats. This is really shiny on it’s own and top coats makes it even more shiny.

In this mani I used: OPI NNS x1, Big Apple Red x3 and Poshe on top.

Color Club – Love ’em Leave ’em and Wild At Heart

4

Then the last two polishes from the new Color Club collection. These would be the two holographic shades.

Love ’em Leave ’em is sand-y/golden brown holo polish. The holo effect is not too strong on this one but still visible. One coat of this is enough for opaque result and it applies like butter. This is a really beautiful shade and not at all boring like some lighter colors can be.

Wild At Heart is a purple holo and the collection is named after it. The holographic effect is more visible on this one, this is a lot like the other Color Club holos. This is also opaque with one coat and applies oh so smoothly. This one really glows on your nails. Very pretty!

On both pics only two coats of polish without base or topcoats.
