Color Club – Wild And Willing and On The Wild Side

4

I’ve been pretty busy and I haven’t been able to blog for a few days, but now I’m back and here’s the next two polishes from the new Color Club Wild At Heart collection :)

Wild And Willing is truly awesome polish. This one is hard to descripe, it’s sort of copper-y/gold/pink-ish duochrome. This one looks amazing on nails and the shade is truly unique. Two coats was enough. The photo doesn’t do justice to the shade and you can only experience how amazing this polish is by trying it out yourself!

On The Wild Side is smokey grey metallic polish. The shade is beautiful and the polish is well pigmented but I just don’t get along with metallic finish polishes. I can’t apply them without seeing the brushstrokes on the nails :/

Again both pics only have two coats of polish and no base or topcoat.

Color Club – Rule Breaker and With Abandon

5

Here’s the first two pics from the new Color Club Wild At Heart collection. I can’t really say anything about how long these stay without chipping or how long they take to dry since I only swatched them quickly and took the photos. I’ll get back at that later on.

Rule Breaker is a gorgeous green with a hint of blue in it and this is a good candidate for my first test with Essie’s Matte About You (if the mail man ever delivers that to my mailbox). Rule Breaker is well pigmented and applies smooth as butter. I’m still a sucker for green and this is a true winner for me!

With Abandon is a dark black/brown-ish polish with gold micro-glitter. In this one the glitter stays clearly visible on the nails and this is a truly beautiful shade. I used this to do my mom’s mani and this looked awesome on very short nails too. With Abandon takes two coats to be opaque and applies pretty smoothly too.

Both pics are taken with only two coats of polish and no base or top coat.

Revlon Runway Collection Nails

1

A while back our mailman was nice enough to bring me six packages of Revlon Runway Collection nails. I just haven’t had time to do an actual post about them until now. This will be a quick introduction to these nails and the post about putting them on and using them will have to wait until my sister has time to come by and let me use her nails for this. The nails I got are Medium lenght with different french tip designs. A quick look showed that the nails are quite thin and flexible, which will help them look more natural. I really like the tip design on these, quite elegant and stylish looking. One package includes 24 nails in 12 different sizes, a file, a manicure stick and bottle of glue. The instructions can be found from the backside of the package.

Revlon Runway Collection nails seem to be pretty good quality and the package has everything you need to use them. I’m looking forward to testing these for real :)

Sinful Colors – #79 Opal Glitter

3

This time I decided to try a glitter polish that actually is supposed to be very sheer, Sinful Colors’ Opal Glitter. Like the Mavalas on yesterday’s post this is best for layering with colored polishes. I was feeling like a more natural looking mani so I chose to wear this alone. The polish itself is nothing too special, just multi-colored glitter in a clear base. In the bottle this looks a bit milky white but on the nails it’s clear.

Opal Glitter is quite thin and applies pretty well. Three coats didn’t take forever to dry with Poshe. I also think this should be easy to remove since there isn’t too much glitter on my nails.

In this mani I used: OPI NNS x2, Opal Glitter x3 and Poshe on top.

New Mavala glitters – Blue and Purple

5

I saw the new Mavala Fall 2009 collection Happy Colours in a store and decided to buy two shades to test them out. I ended up getting Glitter Purple and Glitter blue. The entire collection has six glitter polishes. Cos I’m still traumatized from removing a glitter mani last night I didn’t want to test these on my nails quite yet ;)

Both of the polishes have a clear base with colored glitter. The clear base polish made me think they might not be very opaque. These might be better for layering instead of being worn alone. I’m also thinking about pimping them a little bit. Maybe adding more glitter and/or colored polish.

In the bottle these shades look bright and beautiful but a quick test on a piece of plastic tape reveals the truth. Regardless of the beautiful colors these have very little coverage. I applied quite a lot of polish on the tape and you won’t have that much glitter on your nails with just one coat. Though I think these will spark up your manicure nicely when you layer them with the right kind of polish.

Getting over my fear of glitter polish!

5

I managed to destroy my green Aragon manicure pretty fast and I tried to save the situation with a coat of Color Club Magic Attraction glitter polish. This is from last year’s Color Club Glitter Vixen collection that had seven gorgeous glitter polishes in it.

With this mani I’m also trying to get rid of my fear for glitter polish or more like the fear of removing it. Glitter polishes are absolutely gorgeous to look at but removing them is a big pain in the butt :/ This time I’m going to use acetone nail polish remover and let it sit on the nail for a bit before trying to remove the polish. We’ll see how that works out this time or will I once again swear that I’ll never use glitter polish again ;)

In the pic I have one coat of Magic Attraction and one coat of Poshe on top of my dark green OPI Here Today…Aragon Tomorrow manicure.

OPI – Here Today…Aragon Tomorrow

5

Stunning dark green Here Today…Aragon Tomorrow from OPI Fall/Winter 2009 España collection. Really dark green shade that looks almost black in some lights. This polish has a tiny bit of shimmer in it but so little that it’s almost impossible to see on the nails. This is a really beautiful green and again it’s a must have to all you green nail polish lovers out there!

Here Today…Aragon Tomorrow is really thin in the bottle and the application wasn’t best possible. It was surprisingly see-through on the first coat but the second coat smooth it down a lot. After the third coat all was perfectly smooth and it dried pretty fast with a little help from Poshe.

In this mani I used: Nail Tek II Intensive Therapy x2, Here Today…Aragon Tomorrow x3 and Poshe on top.

Wet n Wild – Rocking In Rubies

8

I just had to test my new Wet n Wild polish right away. Rockin In Rubies is bright red polish with red and gold shimmer. Though you can only see the gold shimmer in the bottle, on the nails it’s all looking red. This one is really flaming red and quite beautiful.

Rockin In Rubies is pretty thin and runs on your cuticles pretty easy. After two coats I still had visible nail line so I could’ve actually used three. Still this is pretty well pigmented for a cheap polish. It also took quite a while to dry. Anyways, I can forgive all of this cos it’s such a pretty shade ;) Now I’m just hoping it’ll stay on a few days without chipping.

In this mani I used: OPI NNS x2, Rocking In Rubies x2 and Poshe to dry it all.

Yesterday when I removed my last mani I noticed all the nails on my right hand have started peeling. After cursing and swearing for a while I realised why this is happening. At work while doing gel and acrylic nails I use this disinfecting cleaner and that must be drying up my nails. So I guess I should finally get them damn gloves and start wearing them too or I can kiss goodbye to my wishes of having long and healthy nails. I hope the peeling will calm down instead of turning into a nail breakage festival.

Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear – Plum Power

4

Here’s the next polish I got from my trip, Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear shade Plum Power. Not a very unique color but still very beautiful. This was good for my collection cos I didn’t have a similar polish yet. This purple shade is another great color for fall and it really does look plum-y.

Plum Power’s application wasn’t the best possible but it’s well pigmented. Two coats was quite enough. The negative thing I have to say is that this took forever to dry, even with Poshe. On the positive side, this seems to be well lasting. Three days and no chipping and the shine stays on. Average polish with a very reasonable price tag and it really is a pretty shade.

In this mani I used: OPI NNS x2, Plum Power x2 and Poshe on top.

Sephora by OPI – Never Enough Shoes

7
As a total shoe-freak I just had to get this nail polish just because of it’s name. Even got a laugh out of my husband showing him the name. Apparently it’s perfect for me ;)

Never Enough Shoes is a nice, average nail polish. Many bloggers describe it as black but to me it looks more like very dark brown. It also has very fine, multi-colored micro-glitter in it. In a dimmer light you can’t really see the glitter and it just looks like a very dark creme polish

It’s quite thick in the bottle but not impossible to apply. I didn’t feel a need to use thinner yet. Two coats was enough for opaque result and this dried quickly.

In this mani I used: OPI NNS x2, Never Enough Shoes x2 and Poshe on top.
