Try It On Tuesday: Wet n Wild – Break the Ice

6

Hello lovelies and happy Tuesday! It’s gonna be another two post day and I’m gonna start it off with my TIOT manicure, Wet n Wild Break the Ice. I’ve been on a search for the perfect shimmery white and I saw this in a local store a while ago. I think my search might be over :D This is just perfect!

This is three coats of Break the Ice with G & G HK Girl top coat.

The formula on this is thin and sheer. This runs down to your cuticles easily so apply thin coats. I did three coats and could’ve easily done a fourth one without the manicure looking too thick. I love the fact that the shimmer on this is white. This makes my nails look like they are covered with ice and fresh powder snow. Just beautiful! Hands down my favorite white polish now!

Rain City Lacquer – Market Bouquet

2

There’s a new brand in indie town. Rain City Lacquer recently released their first collection of five polishes called “Sleepless”. Rainy city, sleepless, there’s enough hints of where this brand is based on ;) At the moment Rain City Lacquer only ships to US addresses with hopes to expand.

So today I’m showing you one of the polishes from this first collection. This is Market Bouquet, an interesting mix of shiny metallic glitter and neon glitter. I don’t have anything like this in my collection and I like it a lot.

This is one coat over Color Club Uptown Girl with G & G HK Girl top coat.

Formula was good and I had no issues with application. Even the bigger glitter pieces came out of the bottle very easily and there was no need for fishing. The bigger glitters might need some placing if they seem to pile up on each other. I didn’t have this problem since I only did one coat. This is another fun looking summer-y polish :)

Rain City Lacquer can be bought from their webstore (US customers only). You can also follow them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Color Club – Uptown Girl

0

Here’s a quick swatch of Color Club Uptown Girl from the Spring 2010 Rebel Debutante collection.

This is three coats of Uptown Girl with G & G HK Girl top coat.

The formula was a little watery and it took three coats to be opaque. I can’t remember if this was originally this watery or is it just the fact that years haven’t been kind to this bottle of polish. Either way it’s still very much usable and I love this shade. Perfect for fall or layering glitters :)

Jindie Nails Holo Duo – Olive You and Polo

0

Today I have two new Jindie Nails pretties for you. This is a duo of holographic polishes Olive You and Polo. It’s pretty easy to guess which is which looking at the colors ;) This is a very pretty couple, holo effect is nice and subtle. So even if you don’t like intense holo effect you might still love these two. The base colors are just gorgeous and they look stunning even without sunlight and holo showing.

Let’s start with the purple holo, Polo (love that name btw ;) ). This is three coats with G & G HK Girl top coat. Application was great. There was no dragging or balding. This took three coats to be opaque on my long nails but shorter nails can get away with just two coats. Such a lovely color!

Then there’s the gorgeous Olive You, a pale green holo and I can see some gold glitter too. This is two coats with G & G HK Girl top coat. Perfect formula, smooth application. Opaque with two coats. This one is so beautiful too! Just stunning in sunlight!

Oldie But Goodie: Borghese – Espresso Brown

2

Time for another Oldie But Goodie post. This theme features a polish from my stash that isn’t untried but has been sitting there, forgotten for far too long.

So this time I decided to wear one of my all time favorite browns, Borghese Espresso Brown. This is the perfect warm, chocolate brown for fall time. I just love this shade. What a shame it’s been unused for a couple of years now. I’ll definitely dig it out again in a couple of months.

This is three coats of Espresso Brown with G & G HK Girl top coat.

Polish Addict Nail Color – Pretty Zombie

0

Today I have another shade from Polish Addict Nail Color for you. This is Pretty Zombie and trust me, you want to scroll all the way down to see all the photos of this one ;)

Pretty Zombie is a lovely mix of glitter on a peachy pink crelly/jelly base. I love the base color. It’s just perfect for summer and perfect for my skintone!

This is three thin coats of Pretty Zombie with Glitter Food and G & G HK Girl top coat.

This applied perfectly and smoothly. Base color wasn’t streaky or balding at all and the glitter lays nice and flat. Great quality on this one too!

And here’s the coolest part….

IT GLOWS IN THE DARK! :D How freakin’ awesome does that look!?

Polish Addict Nail Color is available at their own webstore and us international ladies can do our shopping at Mei Mei’s Signatures. You can also follow them at FacebookTwitter and Instagram.

Guest post for KellieGonzo and Mish Mash Challenge: Taping

22

Hi and happy hump day lovelies! I’ve been tearing up my nails and cutting my fingers left and right so I missed my Try It On Tuesday post yesterday. I totally had a manicure in mind for today’s Mish Mash Challenge too but instead of actually doing it last night I spent the time fixing a bad tear on my middle finger nail. Darn fridge doors can be deadly for long nails :( Soooo, I don’t have a tape manicure done for you today…

…BUT…

I recently did a tape manicure for KellieGonzo as a guest post (I’m so honored and excited about this!!) and lucky coincidence, it was posted today so I’m gonna take the easy way out and have you go check that one out LOL

Fandom Cosmetics – This is My Design

4

Today I have another new to me brand Fandom Cosmetics polish This is My Design from the “Nothing Here is Vegetarian” collection inspired by Hannibal. Fandom Cosmetics lives up to it’s name and has a lot of cool collections based on awesome TV-shows, movies, etc. Or what do you say about Supernatural inspired collection and nail polish called “Dean’s Baby”? Cos, I mean, mmmmmm, Dean….. err, where was I? Oh yeah, nail polish….

This is My Design is a gorgeous red glitter mix with a scattered holographic effect. The base is orange-y, rusty red and the holo effect is quite strong. This is amazing in sunlight and the sparkling is just blinding. Perfect color for stunning fall nails!

For this manicure I used three thin coats of Fandom Cosmetics This is My Design with Glitter Food and G & G HK Girl top coat.

This is My Design has a thick-ish gel like formula and it applies quite nicely. This can be opaque on it’s own and will be perfect layered over a base color too. If you build this up to be opaque on it’s own I recommend very thin coats and let each coat dry well before applying the next. That way you get a nice and smooth result. This one is definitely worth the three coats. It looks like hot lava with rainbow sparkle when it’s built up to be opaque on it’s own. Just stunning!

Fandom Cosmetics polishes can be bought from their webstore, they ship internationally too. You can also follow them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Polish Addict Nail Color – Beach Cabana

2

TGIF and I have just the polish to put you on that relaxed sunny summer weekend mood :D This is Polish Addict Nail Color indie brand’s Beach Cabana. A colorful blend of neon purple, neon pink and neon green glitter on a nude crelly base.

On this mani I used three thin coats of Beach Cabana, coat of Glitter Food and G & G HK Girl top coat.

Beach Cabana applies perfectly and the crelly base is smooth and even looking on the first coat. The great formula made it very easy to build up the sandwich effect with three coats.

This was my first experience with Polish Addict Nail Color and I’m very happy with the quality. Polish is beautiful, formula is perfect and application was flawless. Now I can’t wait to try the other colors sitting on my “to be swatched” shelf :D

Polish Addict Nail Color is available at their own webstore and us international ladies can do our shopping at Mei Mei’s Signatures. You can also follow them at Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Jindie Nails – A History of Violets

2

Here we go again with another Jindie Nails glitter topper from the Glitter Topper Mod Quad collection. I have previously reviewed Sparkle on the Vine and Dancing with the Stars. The fourth and final shade Eclectric is also coming up soon :)

So this is A History Of Violets and here’s how it’s described on the Jindie Nails website: “It has a mix of white, periwinkle, lilac, lavender, wine, opaque matte burgundy, opaque matte light purple, opaque matte dark purple hex, dots, stars, short bars (just a few). squares and lots and lots of purple and silver shimmer throughout.   This polish features a few new glitters I haven’t used before, including matte gray and white dots & moons”.

On this manicure I used two coats of Essie Lilacism, two coats of A History of Violets, coat of Glitter Food and G & G HK Girl top coat.

Application was excellent, no issues. Glitters applied nice and evenly, no fishing, dabbing or placing needed. This is a very pretty glitter topper and I’m loving the colors for fall time. Layering this over an icy blue will make it perfect for winter too.

This will be available soon at jindienails.com!
