Jindie Nails – Lights Out and Love Me

4

These two polishes were released together as a Valentines Duo but due to popular demand they will still be restocked. They won’t be offered as a duo set anymore but you can buy them individually.

First we have Lights Out “a very dark gray, almost black super squishy jelly.  It’s full of all shades of reds and pinks and is pretty opaque on it’s own in 3 coats, or can be layered over many different colors for a totally different look”.

This looks amazing on it’s own or layered over a dark color. But there’s already swatch photos that way so I decided to take a different road with this one. I layered it over yesterday’s Pink Stilettos manicure and I love how it turned out looking. Lights Out covered Pink Stilettos almost completely but the pink shade underneath brings certain warmth to this grey shade. Macro shot also shows the beautiful shimmer in this. The result was very beautiful and totally unique!

Formula on this was excellent. I applied two coats normally and the result was very smooth. No need to fish for the glitter either. I didn’t even turn the bottle upside down. I only needed to apply one coat of HK Girl to smooth it out.

Ok, then let’s move on to the other one. This is Love Me “a medium purple shade with a blue flash, matte ice blue small hex, violets, blues, magentas, pinks throughout.  It’s a cream/jelly and opaque in 2-3 coats”.

Love Me was a bit tricky to try and capture accurately. I had to adjust the color a bit afterwards to make it look as close to reality as possible. I think I got pretty close but in real life the shade is somewhat deeper and even more vibrant. This one is totally stunning!!

Formula on Love Me was also very good. It applied well and was opaque with two coats. This dried a little rougher and I used two coats of HK Girl to smooth the surface nicely.

These will be available at jindienails.com. You can also check out Jindie Nails social media sites on FacebookInstagram and Twitter for more swatches and latest news of amazing upcoming polishes and restocks!

Jindie Nails – Pink Stilettos (collaboration with Polishaholic RiaG)

25

I’m very proud to present my collaboration polish with Jindie Nails!!

This is Pink Stilettos and here’s how it’s described on Jindie Nails website: “Pink Stilettos is a pastel pink cream/jelly with scatter and linear holographic glitters.  It also has a very pretty pink/gold shifting shimmer added to it.  This one can be worn alone, with no base coat and opaque in about 2 or 3 coats.  As always, 3-free, cruelty free & hand poured in southern USA!”

Jen did perfect with this polish and I couldn’t be happier! Pink Stilettos is gorgeous in sunlight with the scattered holo glitters and the shimmer makes it stunning even when there’s less light. This shade of pink also goes with a lot of different skin tones. I know I usually show a lot of those awesome glitter bombs that I love so much and this is not one of them. I wanted to do something that is suitable for a lot of people so this is perfect to wear on it’s own and it also makes a great, sparkling base for various glitter toppers.

Formula is also great. For this manicure I applied two easy coats of Pink Stilettos and HK Girl top coat. Dry time was very quick. Application was so smooth I didn’t even need to do clean up after. This is somewhat sheer on the first coat but the result is so even you can leave it at that if you want a more delicate looking result. Perfect polish in every way!

This will be available at jindienails.com in April 2014. You can also check out Jindie Nails social media sites on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for more swatches and latest news of amazing upcoming polishes and restocks!

Thank you Jen for this amazing polish! ♥

OPI Brazil nail art – Part 2

8

Here’s some more nail art with OPI Brazil polishes. This time I used Live.Love.Carnaval, Just Can’t Cope-Acabana and Where Did Suzi’s Man-Go?. It didn’t end up looking as I thought it would so I added some studs. In the end I was just ok with the way these nails looked. Gradient could’ve been smoother, lines are a little wobbly and so on. But I said it before and I’ll say it again. My nail art skills are a little rusty so here we are, practising :)

Nail art on F.U.N. Lacquer thermal polish

8

Since yesterday’s heart manicure might have scarred me for life my Valentine’s Day nails don’t have hearts on them ;) Instead I decided to use F.U.N. Lacquer Secret Admirer thermal polish as a base for some nail art. I painted some flowers using white and dark pink Oumaxi acrylic paints and added some beautiful glitter, F.U.N. Lacquer Gold Mark from Christmas 2013 collection. I topped it all with HK Girl top coat.

I LOVE how this thermal looks as a base for nail art. I took a photo of a normal room temperature nails and another one with cold tips. My hand painting skills are far from perfect and I need a lot of practice but the beautiful combination of the thermal and gold glitter makes this manicure work great.

Valentine’s Day nail art

6

Here’s a manicure that made me wish I was skilled enough to kick myself ;) I can’t even begin to understand why I thought it would be a great idea to attach countless tiny pearls on my nails :D I was ready to throw the pearls out the window after the first heart. Instead I decided to be a woman about it and finish what I started. And oh how much fun that was…

Base color is Color Club Wicker Park. Hearts are done with Color Club Hot Like Lava. I painted three coats on a ziploc bag. Let it dry completely and then used a heart shaped hole puncher to cut out the hearts. I used HK Girl on top of Wicker Park and the polish hearts. I used top coat to attach the micro-pearls and rhinestones.

F.U.N. Lacquer – Secret Admirer

17

Today I have another F.U.N. Lacquer polish for you. This is also my first thermal polish. Secret Admirer is from the Love 2014 collection. This is how it’s described on F.U.N. Lacquer website “Secret Admirer is a hot pink fading thermal with red, pink, gold and silver shimmers.”

I love this one! The fading effect is so pretty and it changes color very easily. With my long nails it looks like I have a flawless gradient manicure. The formula was perfect! I applied two easy coats with HK Girl top coat.

I think I might be hooked on thermals (too) now :D

Secret Admirer in normal room temperature.
It turns into a gorgeous shimmery pink-ish nude when warmed up.
It’s a stunning bright pink and red when cold.
Changing from cold to warm. Lovely, isn’t it?

Jindie Nails – Purple Penguin Punch (Norway Nails custom)

6

Today I have a very pretty Jindie Nails polish for you. This is Purple Penguin Punch and it’s only available at Norway Nails.

This is a sheer purple glitter polish that looks great layered on a base color. Purple Penguin Punch is packed with glitter of all kinds of shapes and sizes plus there’s a lot of tiny flakies. The shimmer on this one is amazing! I chose a black creme (Essie Licorice) as a base cos it really made the shimmer pop but you can layer this over any color you want. I think this would also look great over white or light pink.

Application was good and there was no need to fish for the glitter. Though I think it I should’ve applied another layer of top coat to smooth the surface a little more. This is a gorgeous polish and you can create a lot of different looks with is just by changing the base color.

For this manicure I used a coat of Essie Licorice, two coats of Purple Penguin Punch and HK Girl top coat.

Jindie Nails polishes are available at Norway Nails. You can use the code “POLISHAHOLIC” to get -10% off of any purchase. Norway Nails offers a wide range of gorgeous indies and other polish brands. You can also follow them on Facebook and Twitter.

Glitter Gal Australia – Blush

6

Today I have another Aussie indie for you. This is Glitter Gal Australia Blush. Soft pink linear holo. This color is so very pretty and delicate. Formula was great and two coats was enough for an opaque result. I did add a third coat but it wasn’t really necessary. I could have worn this color for days!
