Milani Lip Flash – Hot Flash

2

Hello lovelies! Today I have two posts for you and here’s the first one, a rare makeup post. Few days ago I mentioned that I wanted to also start blogging about makeup and cosmetics, not just nails and here we go. My first makeup post in a long while :)

This is Milani Lip Flash Full Coverage Shimmer Gloss Pencil in Hot Flash 05. I bought mine from Cherry Culture sometime last year.

This pencil is on the thick side and quite soft. It applies very smoothly and evenly but cos of the size I have hard time trying to use it as lip liner too. So for sharp looking result I like to either use a lip liner pencil or apply Lip Flash with a brush for the finishing touch.

Hot Flash is highly pigmented and has visible shimmer in it. It is creamy and doesn’t feel dry on my lips. It’s also surprisingly long lasting through eating and drinking. It wears off pretty nicely leaving a hint of shimmer and redness on your lips.

I love this deep, bold, metallic shade! Great product for the price!

I’ll be back later today with a nail post. My first TIOT :) Check back later to find out what that is about!

My favorite blushes at the moment

6

I have two blushes I use way more than any others. I use these almost every time on my everyday makeup and when I want to play it safe. Theses blushes are NARS Orgasm and Torrid. They go perfectly with my warmtoned skin. Orgasm brings on the natural glowing peachy look and Torrid adds a little more color to it. I usually wear these together.

Orgasm is quite shimmery and glowing. You can’t end up with clown cheeks using this one but your cheeks can glow way too much in sunlight if you apply too heavily. Then again Torrid is very pigmented and I suggest you use a light hand applying this and check out the result in daylight before you leave home. These work together perfectly on my cheeks. First I apply contouring, then Orgasm and then the highlighter. I blend everything together smoothly and the last I add a light touch of Torrid for color.

In their pans these two look a lot alike but the swatch photo reveals the truth. Orgasm gives more of a natural glow and Torrid has a lot less shimmer and gives out a lot more color.

So these are my go-to blushes. What about you ladies, what is the blush you go for the most often?

Sugarpill Reckless Loose Eyeshadow Trio

0
Happy Sunday! I hope everyone is having a great weekend :) It’s been a lazy and slow weekend for me.
This time I have swatches of Sugarpill Reckless Loose Eyeshadow Trio for you. This package has Absinthe, Starling and Stella eyeshadows. I swatched these over Urban Decay Primer Potion Original on the left and GOSH cream eyeshadow stick on the right. Separate swatch on the right side is with Make Up Store Mixing Liguid which can be used to make your loose eyeshadow work as an eyeliner. UDPP seemed to work better than the cream eyeshadow and brought out the best in these shadows. These apply silky smooth and the result is very shiny.

You can buy these as a trio or one at a time from Sugarpillshop.

Urban Decay – Naked Basics

0
Urban Decay keeps releasing new products on their Naked range. Recently also Naked nail polish collection. I myself have all three eyeshadow palettes. Naked Basics is smaller than the previous too palettes and contains six shades. Venus is a very fine shimmer shade, Urban Decay calls it off-white demi-matte. Other five eyshadows are mattes. Foxy can also be found from the Naked 2 palette.

Naked Basics palette is light and small which makes it easy to take on trips and carry in your makeup bag if needed. Shades are all velvet-y smooth and well pigmented. As you can see in the swatch photo Foxy blends in perfectly with my warm toned skin and makes it my go to “nude -no makeup” -look eyeshadow. Naked Basics is great addition to the Naked palette family and matte eyeshadows are a very welcome change from all those shimmers and glitter shades. I’m glad to have this one in my makeup drawer :)

Yes, Foxy is there too. It’s just hard to see cos it matches so perfectly with my skin tone.

MAC Ruby Woo

6
Here in my blog I made a few New Year’s resolutions and one of them was using more colorful lip makeup. I’m trying to live up to that promise and bought the perfect product for that too, MAC Ruby Woo. This bright vintage pin-up red has a pretty dry formula but it applies well, doesn’t make my lips dry and stays on forever.
I really like MAC lipsticks myself. Quality is usually excellent, color range is wide and I just love that delicious scent. You ladies have any other great brands/products to suggest for a beginner lip makeup freak?

Sugarpill 4-Color palette swatches

4

Today I have Sugarpill 4-Color eyeshadow palette swatches for you. I’m totally in love with Sugarpill makeup and I have all three 4-Color palettes along with a pile of their loose eyeshadows. The color range is bright and in your face awesome! Online you can see a lot of crazy colorful and intense looks made using these eyeshadows. Though I think using these colors for everyday look is perfectly fine too. Just apply with a light hand and you don’t have to use all four shades in a same look. Don’t let the bold and bright colors intimidate you, just give them a change to brighten up your day! I will be doing and photographing a variety of lighter everyday looks with these eyeshadows for you and on some future Sunday I’ll write a post about those.

Sugarpill has two more pressed eyeshadows that are not included in these palettes. First is black Bulletproof and second is red limited edition @#$%!, which I’m DYING to have but it’s not been sold at the moment *sob*

You have any of Sugarpill eyeshadows? Are you interested in these intense, bright shades or do you rather invest your money on a safer color choices?

You can buy these and other eyeshadows from their online store, Sugarpillshop.

Burning Heart: Flamepoint, Buttercupcake, Love+, Poison Plum
Sweetheart: Dollipop, Afterparty, Midori and Tako
Heart Breaker: Acidberry, Velocity, 2AM and Mochi

Filling up my lash stash

0

On one of the previous posts I was complaining about how sad and empty my lash drawer is. I have now started to fix that problem. I’ll keep buying more from online stores and local stores whenever I find something interesting. I’m hoping to order some Sugarpill lashes too in the near future. They have some cool ones for sale.

I really like my lashes looking full and long but I don’t want a lash extension. I actually tried extensions earlier this year but it didn’t work out for me. My eyes got irritated and itchy and the skin near the lash line started to peel off. I also don’t like how the extensions fall off with your natural lash and by your next lash fix they are looking pretty messy and pointing in ten different directions. Also the fact that I can’t rub my eyes in the shower with the extensions on is extremely annoying, not to mention the eye makeup removal…

So fake lashes are much better option for me. The lashes always look neat and full, no gaps or lashes pointing sideways. There’s a lot of different lengths, volumes and colors to choose from. You can have a different look every day. Using a good quality adhesive (Duo) fake lashes don’t damage my natural lashes or irritate my eyes. You can easily add some character to a nude makeup and make your eyes look bigger by adding a pair of natural looking lashes.

I bought these lashes from Finnish stores. The red feather lashes obviously aren’t something I’d wear on a regular makeup look  ;)

My Christmas eve look

5

My Christmas Eve manicure was, as has been for the past few Christmas Eves China Glaze Ruby Pumps. This is such a gorgeous polish that it doesn’t need any decorations or nail art to go with it. It’s just perfection in the bottle!

On my makeup the attention was on my lips. This was probably the first time in my life for that. I don’t like my lips and I rather draw attention to my big eyes. This didn’t look that bad but it’s gonna take a lot of getting used to. I almost removed the lip paint before leaving home and replaced it with nude gloss. Till now I have only used lipgloss, very light shine or nude lipsticks. This was Max Factor Lipfinity Lip colour 120 Hot. I’ll write a post about this at some point.

On my eye makeup I used UDPP Original with Tease and Bootycall from Naked 2 palette. The pop of color for my eyes was Sugarpill Junebug that I turned into an eyeliner using Make Up Store Mixing Liquid. I added a pair of light and natural looking lashes to make my eyes appear bigger and balance the look between my bright lips and nude eyes.

Holiday theme month: Diorshow New Look set

0
I’m still updating the new design on my blog but I’ll take a little break from that to write you guys a post for a change. I’ve decided that December will be a Holiday theme month on this blog so every post will be about something holiday related and I’ll kick it of by introducing this Christmas set from Dior.
The other day I bought the Diorshow New Look set with mini-size eyeshadow palette 5 Couleurs Grège. I hadn’t tried the New Look mascara yet and I also didn’t have the Grège palette so I just had to buy the set.The brush on the mascara was surprisingly small but easy to use. My first impression of this mascara was very positive but I’ll be writing a full review after I have used it for a little while.
Grège palette is also quite excellent. The eyeshadows are silky smooth, well pigmented and easy to blend. The left side of the palette is warmer and the right side is cold. The middle shade is pretty neutral to me. I took a photo of today’s eye makeup which I did using the left side of the palette and the middle shade.

Tomorrow I’ll show you what kind of goodies the mailman has brought me this week :)
