Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear – Plum Power

4

Here’s the next polish I got from my trip, Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear shade Plum Power. Not a very unique color but still very beautiful. This was good for my collection cos I didn’t have a similar polish yet. This purple shade is another great color for fall and it really does look plum-y.

Plum Power’s application wasn’t the best possible but it’s well pigmented. Two coats was quite enough. The negative thing I have to say is that this took forever to dry, even with Poshe. On the positive side, this seems to be well lasting. Three days and no chipping and the shine stays on. Average polish with a very reasonable price tag and it really is a pretty shade.

In this mani I used: OPI NNS x2, Plum Power x2 and Poshe on top.

Sephora by OPI – Never Enough Shoes

7
As a total shoe-freak I just had to get this nail polish just because of it’s name. Even got a laugh out of my husband showing him the name. Apparently it’s perfect for me ;)

Never Enough Shoes is a nice, average nail polish. Many bloggers describe it as black but to me it looks more like very dark brown. It also has very fine, multi-colored micro-glitter in it. In a dimmer light you can’t really see the glitter and it just looks like a very dark creme polish

It’s quite thick in the bottle but not impossible to apply. I didn’t feel a need to use thinner yet. Two coats was enough for opaque result and this dried quickly.

In this mani I used: OPI NNS x2, Never Enough Shoes x2 and Poshe on top.

Color Club – Fast Woman

2

I couldn’t decide which one of my new polishes to test first so I chose one that I bought a couple of months back, Color Club Fast Woman. Fast Woman was too dark for my summer mood so I wanted to save it for more appropriate time of year. This is a perfect shade for fall. Deep red polish that doesn’t look like black in any light. Sunlight brings out the brilliant red shade this polish has. Vampy perfection in a bottle!

Fast Woman is well pigmented, quite thin in the bottle and it applies very well. Two coats was enough for an opaque result. Poshe also dried this one really fast. Good Color Club quality.

In this mani I used: OPI NNS x2, Fast Woman x2 and Poshe Super Fast Drying TopCoat. I took the photo in direct sunlight and the redness of it comes out real well. When there’s less light the shade is deeper and darker.

Like most likely most of you, I have also seen the swatches of the new Color Club Wild At Heart Fall 2009 Collection. I just can’t wait to get my hands on it. Two new holos too!! :D

Thank you Color Club for yet another great collection!!

Dior Vernis – 663 Indian Saffron

3

I found this beautiful looking Dior Vernis from a local beauty store sale and I just had to have it. In the bottle it’s coral-y glittery goodness and I had high expectations for it. On the nail it was a total bummer. First coat brought just a tiny bit of glitter on my nails and even the base color looked different than in the bottle, not fresh and bright at all. The result you see in the photo took five(!!) coats and i still have visible nail line even on my short nails. This was a most disappointing nail polish I’ve tried in a long while.

Indian Saffron did apply excellent and even the five coats dried quite quickly with Seche vite. I’m going to try layering this with other polishes sometime to see if it works any better that way.

Even with all the glitter and five coats this was quite easy to remove and it stayed on my nails for a couple of days without chipping.

In this mani I used: OPI NNS x2, Indian Saffron x5 and Seche Vite. It’s quite a pretty shade in the photo but five coats is just a bit too much for me :/

Natural manicure for a change

5

After all the colorful manis I felt like just having natural looking nails. I used a Finnish brand Lumene’s nail polish. Lumene Natural Code nail polish shade 03 Be Happy is just perfect for natural manicure.

Be Happy is milky, very sheer polish that gives your nails natural look. It lightens and smooth your nail color just a bit. This one is my go-to polish when I want natural but well maintained looking nails.

In this mani I used: OPI NNS x2, Be Happy x2 and Seche Vite.

After today I think I’ll be ready for more color on my nails :D

Sally Hansen Lacquer Shine Nail Color – Glow

2

Once again, green :D Sally Hansen Lacquer Shine shade Glow lives up to it’s name. This one truly glows! Amazingly beautiful light green polish with a lot of gold shimmer. Pretty, pretty, pretty!! This also stayed on my nails without chipping.

Glow is thin and quite well pigmented. Two coats was enough for my nails. SH Lacquer Shine polishes have a thin and long brush but even with that this polish was easy to apply.

In this mani I used: OPI Nail Envy Soft & Thin x1, Glow x2 and Seche Vite.

China Glaze – Entourage

3

his weekend we are having a Midnight Sun Festival here in Finland and this is my manicure for that.

During summer it doesn’t really get dark at all here. I love the so called nightless time of the year. The sun is still shining at 11 pm and it feels like you have all the time in the world to do things. Days are so long and nights are light. I love it! and my american husband doesn’t ;D I think after almost 5 years of living in Finland he still hasn’t gotten used to the light nights.

Then to the manicure :) China Glaze entourage is a fresh limegreen shimmer polish. The shimmer in this one is so fine you have to look closely to see it. Entourage applied well and two coats was enough for an opaque result. It took a little longer than usual to dry but I think I might have applied it a tiny bit too thickly. In this mani I used: OPI Nail Envy Soft & Thin x2, Entourage x2 and Seche Vite on top.

I got so excited about Konading that I decided to try it on this mani too. I used the same small pattern with black and white Konad polishes. After getting the pattern on my nail I added small rhinestones to the flowers. The other white flower didn’t look as good as I wanted it to so I covered it with a bigger stone ;) I’m still not all that happy with the result but I guess I’ll get better if I keep practicing a lot :)

Color Club – Flair

2

Today I’m wearing Color Club Flair. I love this intensive orange-y red shade. It is so bright and eye catching without being neon. I gotta test this one on a pedicure next. I’ll definitely will re-photograph this when my nails are longer.

Flair was well pigmented and applied perfectly. For some reason I imagined this one being sheer but it’s quite the opposite. One coat of this is enough for short nails. Longer nails might need more than one coat. I used two cos I needed more protection for my nails.

This is a day old manicure and I used: OPI NNS x2, Flair x2 and Seche Vite.

Illamasqua – Rampage

5

Here’s the amazing Illamasqua Rampage!! Dark green creme polish that is clearly green inside too and doesn’t look black anywhere. This one cost me some serious money with shipping but I don’t mind paying for a great quality such as this. I’ve been wanting a green creme like this for a while now and I finally got it. Other bloggers have been going crazy over this and for a good reason. Green perfection in a beautiful bottle!

Rampage is thin in the bottle and applies really well. Two coats was enough for opaque result on my short nails. This one also dries pretty quickly. In this mani I used: OPI NNS x1, Rampage x2 ja päällä Seche Vite.

I had to change my photograph hand cos all the nails on my left hand are different lenght and it just looks down right ugly. The right hand isn’t all that cute either at the moment but I gotta take pics of something ;) I just hope I can get my long nails back someday without using acrylic to get the lenght.

This was my first Illamasqua order and based on that experience I can recommend their online store. Service was good and quick and the shipping time from UK to Finland was less than a week. I love the quality of this nail polish and I’m going to order more shades soon. Illamasqua also sells other cosmetics products on their online store.

Color Club – Limelight

3

Here’s another great shade for short nails, Color Club Limelight. This is a refreshing grass-y-neon-green creme polish and like the photo number two shows, it’s cute on toes too ;)

Limelight is thin in the bottle and quite sheer. For short nails two coats is enough but longer nails will need 3-4 coats. This applies well and dries really fast.

In this mani I used: OPI NNS x2, Color Club Limelight x2 and my best friend Seche Vite on top. This shade is more green in real life. I tried to adjust the colors in Photoshop but I still couldn’t get it to match exactly so the shade in the photos looks a little pale compared to the real thing.
