Today I have the last one of the three Rimmel Lasting Finish products I got for testing a while ago. You can see my review of Lasting Finish 25H Foundation with Comfort Serum (which I love, love, LOVE!!) and Lasting Finish Concealer here. (more…)
Today I’m showing you how well Rimmel Lasting Finish 25H Foundation with Comfort Serum and Lasting Finish Concealer work for me.
The photos below have not been retouched in any way other than cropping and adding the text. So with this makeup foundation, what you see is what you get on my skin. I have a dry combination skin that very easily looks dry after applying makeup. After three to four hours at the latest I usually experience the foundation running from my cheeks and especially the tip of my nose exposing the red skin. I need all kinds of primer and powdering tricks to keep my face looking good for more than three hours.
Here’s my yesterday’s FOTD and first test of new Rimmel Lasting Finish 25H Foundation with Comfort Serum.
This was my first time using Rimmel Lasting Finish 25H Foundation with Comfort Serum and I was so impressed! This made my skin look absolutely flawless. I already said this on my personal FB page and I say it here too. This foundation works so much better for me than the expensive Dior Star I bought a while ago. Don’t get me wrong. I loved the Dior one but after trying this I don’t see myself reaching for that bottle for a while. That’s how good this first test try was! After 8 hours my makeup was still almost perfect. I will have a better and more detailed review coming up after I use this a few more times.
Then to the makeup look. I’ve been drooling over the new Clarins Garden Escape Spring 2015 collection and especially the eye shadow palette so I decided to do a fresh looking green-ish makeup look. I went for some of my old and beloved Dior products plus the brand new Dior blush I just bought. I like how this turned out but it didn’t cure my Garden Escape fever. Those green shades are just too pretty *sigh*
Looking at the photos I also really could have used a matte lipstick instead of just gloss. I have a huge shortage of matte lipsticks so I think I need to throw some money into those too.
When my skin looks this smooth in a close-up photo you better
believe me when I say it looked almost photoshopped in real life ;)

Today I got Rimmel Sweetie Crush textured polishes to show you. These sweet pastels are perfect for spring and summer.
Application on these was very smooth and easy. I had no issues with the application and didn’t need to even do any clean up. These take 2-3 coats to be opaque and dry time to fully dry nails for two coats (no base coat) is about 30 to 35 mins. These were also very easy to remove. The base is more pearly than shimmery so you won’t be up to your elbows in shimmer after removing these.
I swatched 009 Candyfloss Cutie (three coats, no undies or top coat) alone so you can see texture and finish better on those photos. Other colors have a similar finish to this one except for 008 Sherbet Sweetheart that also has glitter in it and is my favorite out of these five shades (I’ll do a separate post for that one later on).
For the second mani I used NailVinyls for the patterns. I attached the NailVinyls and applied two coats of each polish. I used different polish for each nail. I immediately removed the NailVinyls and let the polish dry completely. Then I used different colors and filled in the patterns using a thin nail art brush.
All in all, I quite like these and I have some more nail art ideas in mind for these pretties. Now if I can only get a few extra hours added to my days so I can actually work on my ideas ;)
