Lynnderella – Mr. Darcy

0

Here’s a polish from Lynnderella Once upon a Prince and other Man Candy collection. This is Mr. Darcy. I LOVE the name! I’ve seen the Pride and Prejudice (TV miniseries) so many times and I never get tired of it.

Here’s how Lynnderella describes this polish “Mr. Darcy was inspired by devotion to and deep love for chivalrous gentlemen who have good manners and behave courteously. It has multiple shades of grey, as well as lavender, gunmetal, periwinkle, and navy as well as a kiss of red in a clear base”.

I decided to layer this over the dark navy blue Color Club Williamsburg manicure. Dark base made the black glitter in this pretty much disappear but brought out the other colors quite nicely. This would look great over a lavender or a light pink polish too but in my world Mr. Darcy can not be associated with a girly base color ;)

This is one generous coat of Mr. Darcy over Color Club Williamsburg with G & G HK Girl top coat.

The formula on this was very good and easy to apply. I had no issues, none what so ever.

Color Club – Williamsburg

1

Happy Saturday lovelies! Today I have another polish from the new Color Club fall 2013 Girl About Town Collection for you. This is Williamsburg, a deep navy blue jelly with blue shimmer and what looks like micro-flakies on the macroshot. Very beautiful color that’s perfect for the holiday season. Add some gold or silver nail art and you’re ready to party!

On this mani I used two coats of Williamsburg and G & G HK Girk top coat.

This has a good formula and two coats was enough for my nails. Again, a tiny bit streaky on the first coat but evened out nicely with the second one.

I’ll be back this weekend with some new Color Club, Lynnderella and new Sugar Crush fall color from IsaDora so be sure to check back for those :)

Chaos and Crocodiles – Fireside Nights

0

This is my first Chaos and Crocodiles polish and I was so excited when this brand became available internationally. This one is Fireside Nights and it’s just perfection for fall with all the fire-y red and gold glitter.

I layered two coats of Fireside Nights over IsaDora Loden Green and topped it off with a coat of G & G HK Girl top coat.

Formula was nice and thin and the glitter came out of the bottle very easily. Two coats applied evenly and it was easy to control the amount of the glitter you were taking out of the bottle. The result was smooth enough that there was no need to use Glitter Food before the top coat.

Chaos and Crocodiles polishes can be found from their website. Us international ladies can get our fix from Norway Nails (use the code POLISHAHOLIC for -10% off of your purchase) or Mei Mei’s Signatures

IsaDora Wonder Nail – Loden Green

4

This is IsaDora Loden Green from their gorgeous new Color Chock collection for fall 2013. The base color on this is very interesting. It’s muddy green-ish grey and it’s packed with fine golden green shimmer. I know it doesn’t sound good but it works like a charm. This polish is absolutely gorgeous and just a perfect color for fall!

Formula on this is great. It applies nice and smooth and it’s fully opaque with two coats. On this manicure I used two coats of Loden Green with G & G HK Girl top coat.

How I take care of my hands and cuticles – Part 1

1

Winter is coming, weather outside is getting colder and air inside is getting drier. So I thought this would be the perfect time to tell you how take care of my hands and the products I use. This is going to be a three part post and I’ll start it off with hand wash and exfoliation.

My skin is quite sensitive and dries up very easily. During summer I can slack off and not moisturize my hands daily. When winter arrives it’s a whole another story. I have to be almost religious about moisturizing. If I’m not the skin on my hands will have bleeding cracks on knuckles and cuticles. Very painful and looks horrible too. I have two little kids, two dogs and I spend a lot of time at horse stables. I wash my hands a lot and they have to go through plenty of things during an average day. So on this three part post I show you some of my old favorites and some new to me products too to help me keep my hands soft and smooth. Some of these products might not be available internationally but I bet you can find similar products all over the world

I will start with hand soaps. I’ve noticed that regular soaps make my hands very dry and make my cuticles crack. So I’ve turned to more natural soaps. One of my favorites for every day use is Urtekram Brown Sugar hand soap. It dries my hands a lot less and my cuticles don’t crack using this soap. It washes my hands clean and the scent is very mild. This is the one soap I keep buying all the time.

As a new to me product I got to test LUSH Sultana of Soap bar soap that was recommended to me by the lovely ladies at LUSH Finland. This one is perfect for my dry hands. The lather feels so creamy and this leaves your hands feeling very nice after the wash. The dry, tight feeling I usually have on my skin after a wash is gone and the scent is absolutely lovely. The scent is quite strong and stays on your skin for some time. I’m very sensitive to some soap scents but this didn’t seem to be one of them. I tested this a couple of times at nights too so that I washed my hands with this right before going to bed. I sleep with my hands close to my face and I got no reaction at all even if I could smell the scent pretty well. You can use this soap on your whole body as well as your hands and as a big bonus it makes your bathroom smell oh so lovely!

I also like to exfoliate my hands regularly to remove the dead dry skin and help moisturizers work. One of my favorites is an organic sugar scrub. I think this is only available in Finland but I bet there’s a lot of similar products available in your area.

I also got to test LUSH Ocean Salt scrub. This one has quite a soft and smooth, almost creamy texture but it still exfoliates efficiently. Ocean Salt scrub leaves my skin feeling very soft and smooth. I even tested this without using lotion right after scrubbing and there was no tightness or dryness of the skin. This has a very freshening citrus scent that stays on your skin for a bit but doesn’t really smell through after applying the lotions. This is actually a facial scrub and there will be a post of how this works on my face coming up in a near future.

Here was part one of “How I take care of my hands and cuticles” and I do that by paying attention on the hand soaps I use and choosing the more gentle ones. Also, I don’t forget to get rid of that dead skin and I regularly use scrubs to exfoliate. On part two I will be talking about cuticle care and products I use for that.

Lynnderella – The One Who Got Away

0

Yay me! For getting another blog post up today LOL

This is Lynnderella The One Who Got Away from the Summer 2013 “Once upon a Prince and other ManCandy” collection. Here’s how it’s described on the Lynnderella website “The One Who Got Away is full of assorted black and bright coloured glitter in matte and satin finishes. Microglitter accents in a clear base”.

This is one generous coat of The One Who Got Away over Color Club Wicker Park and finished with G & G HK Girl top coat.

This one has a very good formula too. The glitter comes out of the bottle just fine without extra tricks. Application is even and smooth. No need to place the glitters too much. I only slightly moved the biggest ones if they landed on the edge of the nail. I just love the colorful micro-glitter this has. It gives this polish a certain cuteness factor and some sparkle :)

Color Club – Wicker Park

1

Today I have another new Color Club shade for you from the Girl About Town Fall 2013 collection. This is Wicker Park, a beautiful lavender creme.

For this mani I used two coats of Wicker Park with G & G HK Girl top coat.

Wicker Park has an excellent formula and the application was a breeze. Just a tiny bit streaky on the first coat but evens out perfectly on the second one. Two coats is also enough for an opaque result. Very beautiful shade and a great quality! Looks like your average lavender/lilac creme but at least I don’t have dupes for this in my stash.

Hello lovelies! I’m still alive, just adjusting to my new routine and schedule. I have no plans on stopping blogging so just have a little more patience with me while I figure it all out :)

And now on to this gorgeous polish that is a new Mei Mei’s Signatures exclusive Sexy Barbie by Jindie Nails. This is a stunning pink jelly with circle glitter in different colors and sizes. On this manicure I used three coats of Sexy Barbie, a thin coat of Glitter Food and G & G HK Girl top coat.

The application on this was amazing. Absolutely no issues at all! The jelly base applies so smooth and even. No dragging, balding or streaks. Just amazing! And the color… can I say it again? Amazing! So juicy and perfect pink. I just totally love this one. I love circle glitter and I’m crazy about jelly polishes so this one is right down my alley.

Crazy Polish Lady – Another Mojito, Please!

1

It’s Monday again! I hope everyone is off to a great start with their week :) Today I have Crazy Polish Lady Another Mojito, please! for you. This is from the limited edition Summer Is Up collection. Even though this is a summer polish the colors go great for fall and winter too. This crelly polish has quite a unique and lovely color combination!

For this mani I used two coats of Another Mojito, please! with G & G HK Girl top coat.

Formula was good and the application was nice and smooth which is usually the case with Crazy Polish Lady polishes. This was opaque on two coats but with my long nails it would’ve not done any harm to add a third coat. With two coats the result was smooth enough so I didn’t need Glitter Food before the top coat.

Crazy Polish Lady has recently opened her own webstore. This polish is still available along with previous collections and a very stunning looking new fall collection. So go check it out! You can also follow her on Facebook.
