ABC Challenge – J is for Just a Little Dangerous and Jindie Nails

36

It’s Wednesday and time for our super fun weekly ABC Challenge again. This week it’s J and for that I chose Sephora by OPI Just a Little Dangerous and Jindie Nails Baby Doll to go with that. I applied two coats of Just a Little Dangerous and added a little gradient style application with Jindie Nails Baby Doll. I left the biggest white hexglitters in the bottle and aimed for more shimmer and colorful glitter. These looked so pretty IRL and the photos just don’t do this manicure enough justice. I could’ve really used sunlight for these photos but mother nature decided that instead of a nice sunny spring day she should just throw a blizzard at us :/

Just a Little Dangerous is a very beautiful shimmery purple. Easy to apply and dries fast. I love this color! I only have a mini bottle of this and I think I might need to get a full sized one. I did a full review of Jindie Nails Baby Doll a few days ago and you can find it here. I can’t put in words how much I LOVE this polish. It is so versatile. It’s stunning on it’s own! Even more stunning on a black base and now the purple base brought out yet another side of it. I only have a mini of this too but I’m getting a full size bottle asap!

This is taken with my iPhone 4S and it’s most color accurate.

piCture pOlish – Mallard

2

I bought my first piCture pOlish bottle a while ago, it was Mallard. This polish is created with The PolishAholic blogger. I really love seeing these blogger collaborations. Who would have better knowledge of what shades are unique and still missing from the nail polish universe than a true polishaholic? Mallard was released as a limited edition shade but has since been added to the permanent range, where it truly deserves it’s spot I might add. I’m still praying to the nail polish goddesses to give me a change to get my hands on another very popular shade, piCture pOlish Kryptonite.

Mallard is a deep dark green polish with green and copper flakies plus a lot of shimmer. There is very beautiful depth to this polish, it glows on your nails and the shade of green is stunning. This applies very well and dries fast. On the photos I have three coats of Mallard on but if you have shorter nails you can get away with just two. I also have Inm Super Fast Drying top coat on. This is a unique shade in my stash and I’m very happy to own it. I actually wore this manicure for a full week :D

Please go read The PolishAholic’s original post where she shares the lovely story behind this polish.

I got my bottle from Harlow & Co. Mallard is sold out at the moment but since it’s now part of a permanent collection you can get yours later when it’s back in stock.

Jindie Nails – Rave

14

Hello my lovelies! It’s Monday once again! I spent yesterday celebrating my daughter’s 3rd birthday. The party was two weeks late cos of the influenza, but better late than never. We had fun and I ate way too much cake. We still have a ton of leftovers so I’ll probably eat too much cake today too ;D

Today I have another Jindie Nails polish for you, this time it’s Rave. This is one of the three new shades and I have Taste Like Snozberries and Princess Breath to show you too later this week. Rave is a white crelly with a lot of neon hexglitter in different sizes and colors. There’s also magenta circle glitter in two different sizes. This polish has both matte and metallic shine glitter in it. This is such a bright, fun polish and it almost looks like splatter nails to me.

The formula is normal, good Jindie formula. Easy to apply and no special tricks needed. I did turn the bottle upside down and rolled it a few times before starting the application. After this glitter came out just fine, no fishing needed. On the photo I have three coats of Rave, a coat of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food and a coat of Inm Super Fast Drying top coat. This didn’t necessarily need Glitter Food, but I like the silky smooth surface it creates so I use it with most of my glitter polishes now. Dry time was normal. I can’t say much about the wear time since I have the gel coating on my nails and that helps any polish to stay good for at least two weeks without chipping.

Removal was the normal glitter removal process. Since I have the UV-gel coating on to protect my nails I have figured out a new way to remove glitter polishes. First I take acetone free nail polish remover and remove all the polish that comes off easily. Then I wet the surface of the nail and remaining glitter pieces using a little more nail polish remover. After that I take a metallic cuticle pusher and simply push the glitter off the nail. I do this one nail at a time. After all the glitter is pushed off I wipe the possible remains off with polish remover and then I’m done. This doesn’t seem to damage the UV-gel at all. I don’t need to waste a ton of polish remover and cotton pads rubbing off the glitter. The best thing of all,  I don’t need to soak my nails and skin in acetone. I do NOT recommend this method to natural nails since you might end up damaging the surface of your nails. I can do a quick tutorial post with photos/video of this method if my explanation wasn’t clear enough.

You can purchase Jindie Nails polishes from their Etsy-store (closed at the moment) as well as LlaroweMei Mei’s Signatures and Ninja Polish. You can find the latest restock and other info from their Facebook page. Jindie Nails is opening their new online store in a near future. News about that can be found from their FB-page. I will also post about the big news and the next restock time when the information is available.

Jindie Nails – Baby Doll

2
Today I have another Jindie Nails polish for you and this time it’s Baby Doll. I got quite a few of Jindie Nails polishes a few days ago and I really want to show them all to you before the next restock. Jindie Nails is opening a new online store and soon you can buy these babies there.

Baby Doll has a ton of glitter in different shapes, colors and sizes. There’s so much going on again that I won’t even try to write it all down, I’ll rather let the photos speak for themselves. Overall this is a very beautiful and delicate looking polish. Perfect for those summertime parties when you want your nails to look awesome and stunning but can’t really wear bright colors. I totally fell in love with this one and I need to buy a full size bottle sometime soon :P

You can get out the full potential of this polish by layering it over black. Jawdroppingly gorgeous! The black base really brings out everything in this polish. You can see the amazing shimmer on the sheer base too. I’m going to try this on a galaxy manicure soon. Amazing!

Application was normal and I had no problems. I didn’t need to fish out the glitter either. I recommend turning the bottle upside down for a bit before application and shaking/rolling it lightly. You should also let each layer dry for a bit before applying another one. This way the bigger glitter pieces won’t start dragging and moving with the following coat of polish.

On the first set of photos I have two coats of Baby Doll over a coat Essie Beam Up whitening base coat, a coat of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food and Sally Hansen Diamond Shine top coat. Photos are taken in sunlight and also using daylight bulbs.

On the second set I have two coats of Baby Doll over a coat of Color Club’s Where’s The Soiree? black creme. I topped it off with a coat of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food and Sally Hansen Diamond Shine top coat. Photos are taken using daylight bulbs.

You can purchase Jindie Nails polishes from their Etsy-store (which is sometimes closed) as well as LlaroweMei Mei’s Signatures and Ninja Polish. You can find the latest restock and other info from their Facebook page.

Emily De Molly – Girls Best Friend

6

Happy Women’s Day to all you lovely ladies!

What would be a better color for this day than bright feminine pink? This is my first Emily De Molly polish but it certainly won’t be the last, I love this! Girls Best Friend is a bright pink jelly with holographic glitter. This applies oh so smoothly and dries very fast. There’s also no need to fish for the glitter. Just turn the bottle upside down for a bit before applying the polish. On the photo I have three coats of polish and Inm Top coat. I could’ve easily applied a fourth coat and the result would’ve still been nice and smooth. This polish is so pretty and the quality is amazing! I love these jellyglitters cos I can get a sandwich effect just by using one polish.

I got this from Shoppe Eclecticco (they ship internationally). At this time most of the Emily De Molly polishes are sold out. You can follow the shop’s Facebook-page for further information about the next restock time. This was my second order from this store and I can really recommend them. Customer service is great and my order arrived in about a week.

Jindie Nails – Be Someone Cute

10

Is anyone actually surprised when I tell you I have another indie glitter for you today? ;) This blog seems to be turning into an indie polish blog and I love it LOL

Jindie Nails Be Someone Cute has tiny black, white and pink matte glitter on a sheer base with a cold pink flash. My eyes and camera can also pick up something purple-ish in there.

This polish is thin for a glitter polish and applies smooth as butter. This is sheer so I didn’t even try to get it opaque on my long nails. I decided to layer it with OPI Pedal Faster Suzi! cold pink shimmer polish. This has a good coverage though and I think it’ll be opaque on shorter nails with three thin coats. On the photos I have two coats of OPI Pedal Faster Suzi! and two thin coats of Be Someone Cute. I finished the manicure with a coat of Sally Hansen Diamond Shine top coat.

Be Someone Cute creates a fun effect on your nail and the tiny glitter is a cool change from all the chunky glitter bombs I’ve been wearing lately. This also looks great when you use it as an effect polish and only apply it to half of the nail.

You can purchase Jindie Nails polishes from their Etsy-store (which is sometimes closed) as well as LlaroweMei Mei’s Signatures and Ninja Polish. You can find the latest restock and other info from their Facebook page. Jindie Nails is also launching their own webstore which should be working by the next restock. Follow their FB-page for more information about that too.

ABC Challenge – I is for I’m Not Really a Waitress

32

Happy hump day everyone! It’s that time of the week again and this week it’s letter I. For this I chose another classic, OPI I’m Really Not a Waitress. This is an amazing berry red shimmer that really does glow on your nails. Applies smoothly and dries fast. Just perfection in a bottle!

I know I was supposed to do some nail art this week but again, this one is such a classic that I think it’s the most perfect on it’s own. I stared at my nails for a while but I couldn’t come up with anything that would’ve made this look even better. I just love a good red nail polish. It’s always classy and bold at the same time!

Born Pretty Store Glitter powder sheets review

6

I got these Glitter powder sheets from Born Pretty Store to try them out with some nail art. The package contains 12 different colors packed in small plastic jars. These can be used for a countless amount of nail art styles and they are also perfect for acrylic or gel nails. The size is just perfect so these lay very flat on your nail and are easy to pick up using a dotting tool or an orange wood stick.

I decided to try and do a drip manicure using these glequins. I really liked how this looked in real life. It was a pretty bling bling result. I used Color Club’s Take Me To Your Chateau and I Believe In Amour to paint my nails. Then I used clear nail polish and an orange wood stick to apply the hex glitters. I added a coat of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food on top of the decorations and finished it all with a coat of Inm top coat.

You can buy these from Born Pretty Store and they also have a wide range of other nail art supplies. Born Pretty Store offers free worldwide shipping. Please use the code “NZL91” when you order and get extra -10% discount.

ABC Challenge – H is for Hare Polish Swanky Soiree

12

Hello my lovelies, I’m back! I’m still not completely over the influenza but I’m better. This one really kicked my butt though. Had high fever, trip to the hospital cos of breathing difficulties, bad cough, you name it. Also hubby and the kids were very sick too. It was a pretty bad week here but thankfully it now looks like we are all getting better.

So I’m late with my letter H post but better late than never, right? I wanted to do some nail art this week but just didn’t have the time or energy to do it so I chose a cool H polish from my unused pile. This is Hare Polish Swanky Soiree. Here I have three coats and next time I think I’ll layer it with grey creme and just use one coat. This is an awesome looking polish and glitter really pops. I love it! It an unusual combination but it really does work.

Born Pretty Store Hearts review

14
I got to choose a product to test from Born Pretty Store and since Valentine’s Day is near I chose hearts. Here’s a direct link to the product. The store describes these as “iced mylar sheets” and I think that is pretty accurate. These are very sheer and change color depending on the angle of lighting.

These are very thin and easy to bend. I had no trouble placing these on my nails and I could hardly feel them through the top coat. I had to keep pressing the hearts back down a few times while the polish was drying since they were trying to straighten back up. After the polish was dry they stayed down nicely. I think these might work even better with some nail glue. Now I just applied the glitter polish and placed the hearts on top of the wet polish.

These change color in a rainbow-y way and I placed a few more on a sheet of paper with some white polish to better demonstrate the color change. This time I chose to use pearly white Color Club Oooooo La La and Wet n Wild Kaleidoscope glitter polishes but these would also go great with pink or baby blue shades. These are also perfect to use with acrylic or gel nails.

I got these from Born Pretty Store and they have a wide range of nail art supplies. They also offer free worldwide shipping. Please use the code “NZL91” when you order and get extra -10% discount.
