Jindie Nails – Strawberry Cupcake

4

Here’s an older Jindie Nails shade for a change. This is the lovely Strawberry Cupcake. It was released in 2012 Winter collection.

This is how it’s described on Jindie Nails website “It has a pastel pink crelly base with an assortment of shaped glitters like round, square and hex in teal, matte pastel lavender, metallic berry, matte grape, metallic turquoise, matte pastel aqua, matte white, metallic deep teal, metallic lavender and periwinkle.  It also has a gorgeous aqua/turquoise shimmer.  Opaque in 2-3 coats and meant to be worn on its own”.

Strawberry Cupcake is absolutely adorable and such a cute, girly shade. For some reason the shade seems to lean a bit to purple-ish against my skin tone.

This is three thin coats of Strawberry Cupcake, a coat of Glitter Food and G & G HK Girl top coat.

Strawberry Cupcake applies very smoothly and evenly. Glitter comes out of the bottle without any problems.  I just absolutely love the color combination on this!

Femme Fatale – Mana Ruby

2

Happy Sunday! Today I have another Femme Fatale polish to show you and this one is a real beauty. Mana Ruby is the squishiest, juiciest jelly I’ve ever tried. It is absolutely delicious! It has red hex glitter and iridescent blue glitter that gives this an amazing glow from within. I almost never layer jelly polishes over cremes cos I love to get the depth showing and you lose that effect if you layer it on a base color. That being said nothing stops you from layering this one on top of another polish and it’ll still be gorgeous.

This is three thin coats of Mana Ruby with G & G HK Girl top coat. The color is somewhat more vivid red in real life than I was able to capture on the photos.

Mana Ruby applies perfectly and applying three coats didn’t look too thick at all. Since this one has a true jelly formula it’s never really opaque but the visible nail line wasn’t really a problem either. I absolutely love jelly polishes and this one is instantly one of my favorites :)

Femme Fatale polishes and cosmetics can be bought from their website if you live in Australia. International customers can find Femme Fatale polishes from LlaroweHarlow & CoNorway NailsShoppe Ecclecticco and Ledouxnuage.

Lynnderella – Karma Carnelian

0

Today I also have my first ever Lynnderella manicure to show you. This is Karma Carnelian from the Summer 2013 Talismans & Birthstones collection. This is absolutely gorgeous sheer shimmer based glitter polish. Karma Carnelian is full of orange and reg glitter in different shapes and sizes. It’s also packed with fine glowing shimmer that gives this polish great depth. Since this is quite sheer I decided to layer it over a creme polish. I wanted to achieve a really flaming, fire-y result so I chose a bright coral-y red base color.

This is a coat of Essie Ole Caliente, two coats of Karma Carnelian, a coat of Glitter Food and G & G HK Girl top coat.

Karma Carnelian applies very smoothly and evenly. In a nutshell my first experience with Lynnderella polishes was very positive. I loved the result over red base and next I will try a gradient over an orange base.

Karma Carnelian and the other shades from Talismans & Birthstones collection along with other Lynnderella polishes are available to European customers at Norway Nails. Femme Fatale – Planar Anomalies

0

I recently received my first Femme Fatale polishes and they are gorgeous! First I’m showing you Planar Anomalies.

This is how it’s described by Femme Fatale “Planar Anomalies is a really complex polish that is nearly impossible to photograph. It’s a murky black base (sheer crelly, suitable for layering over another shade) with a subtle pink > green shift. in this darkly delightful base we have an assortment of grey, black, holo, purple and teal”.

I totally agree with the “nearly impossible to photograph” part. This one really gave me trouble. It is so unbelievably sparkly and has this amazing depth IRL and only a small part of the awesomeness this polish is can be captured on photos *sigh* I decided to wear this alone to get the depth showing but it would also look great over dark colored undies.

This is two normal coats of Planar Anomalies, a coat of Glitter Food and G & G HK Girl top coat.

Planar Anomalies is really packed with glitter and I think you’d get a better result with three thin, carefully applied coats than two normal ones. You need to be careful with the amount of the glitter on the brush so this will apply evenly. I was a little too generous with the glitter and there’s a few visible bumps. I absolutely love this deep dark color and I will most certainly wear it again when the fall comes. I’ll layer this with a dark shimmery purple and it’ll look stunning!

Femme Fatale polishes and cosmetics can be bought from their website if you live in Australia. International customers can find Femme Fatale polishes from Llarowe, Harlow & Co, Norway Nails, Shoppe Ecclecticco and Ledouxnuage.

Jindie Nails – She Blinded me with Science

2

Late Saturday post for me cos I’ve had a busy day again. I just really wanted to show another new Jindie Nails summer shade to you guys. This is She Blinded me with Science and it has an insane (in a good way) amount of glitter in it.

Here’s the description from the Jindie Nails website: “It has a pale pink crelly base with multiple sizes of neon, holographic and metallic dots, squares, diamonds, rectangles and hex glitters.  This polish features small, medium and large silver holographic dots, small & medium & extra large matte black dots, large metallic turquoise dots plus lime green large metallic dots, white dots and moons plus matte gray moons”.

Yes, as I said, insane amount and it’s so cool! Jen is truly a genius when it comes to creating these amazing glitterbombs. Like all of her polishes, I absolutely love this one too. I looked at the bottle and just knew I would love it. So, so cool!

This is three thin coats of She Blinded me with Science, a coat of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food and G & G HK Girl top coat.

She Blinded me with Science has the same excellent crelly based formula as the other new summer shades so application was a piece of cake. There’s so much glitter that I let some of it fall back to the bottle to avoid getting it all stuck together to a one big lump. I also turned the bottle upside down to help get out the bigger glitters.

Jindie Nails Summer Chic Collection

12

Today I have some brand spanking new Jindie Nails polishes for you, the Summer Chic Collection. This collection has five awesome shades that are all unique and different from each other.

I also used Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food and G & G HK Girl top coat for these swatches. With all of these except Betty’s Fetti Milkshake, I turned the bottle upside down for a bit before the application to help the bigger glitter pieces to come out of the bottle easier. Descriptions are from Jindie Nails website.

So want to see them? Here we go!

Hex on the Beach
“White crelly base with matte, opaque baby pink, peach, red, orange, pastel yellow and canary yellow dots, diamonds & hex. This also has metallic copper & light pink dots & hex throughout plus a gorgeous peach shimmer”.

This is three thin coats with Glitter food and HK Girl top coat. Application was a breeze and I had no issues with it. Hex on the Beach has this beautiful peach-y shimmer that is very subtle and doesn’t really show up on my photos. The color combination on this just makes me smile :)

That Purple Ish

“It’s got a periwinkle purple base loaded with silver shimmer and an assortment of wine, purple, lilac, lavender, hot pink, navy and magenta dots, squares and hex “.

This is three thin coats with Glitter food and HK Girl top coat. Application was very easy with this one. The base is sheer so my long nails needed three coats to build it opaque. I love the periwinkle shade with a ton of shimmer and the big holographic dots give this one such sparkle when the light hits it right.

Quit Staring at my Melons!

“Glitter topper with matte kelly green, barbie pink, matte gray dots, watermelon pink & black dots plus smaller metallic light green and light pink dots.  Also has small and extra large matte black dots and small micro hex in matte kelly green, matte gray, barbie pink, black, watermelon pink. The base is a clear base with bits of real silver flakes and intense green shimmer”.

This is two thin coats over Delush Polish Finding Mr. Bright with Glitter Food and HK Girl top coat. Application was normal, no problems. This is such a gorgeous topper and the name, you gotta love the name! :D I really had to think about what polish to pair it with cos this one has so many colors in it. I ended up using Delush Polish Finding Mr. Bright and I think these two are a match made in heaven. Such a fruit-y fun looking combination. This glitter topper would also go great with a white base and I’m definitely going to try it with neon pink base.

Betty’s Fetti Milkshake

“White crelly base with all same size micro-matte hex in opaque pastels and opaque & transparent neon hex”.

This is three thin coats with HK Girl top coat. Application was very smooth. I did three coats but shorter nails can get away with two. Betty’s Fetti Milkshake is just super cute and fun looking polish! It makes me want to lick my fingers in case it tastes as sweet as it looks :D

Don’t Get it Citrus Twisted

“Bright neon green crelly with matte opaque kelly green, pastel yellow and canary yellow dots and extra large hex, neon pink hex and opaque baby pink dots and extra large hex with silver shimmer”.

This is again three thin coats with Glitter Food and HK Girl top coat. This is the only one that gave me a bit of problems on the application. The base color is quite sheer and I didn’t get it to look as smooth as I wanted. So the next time I will apply the first coat with very little glitter on it and as evenly as I can. Then I’ll let it dry well before applying the next coat. I always allow some dry time between the coats but I think that this time it wasn’t enough. Either way this polish is absolutely gorgeous, color combination is amazing and it’s totally worth the little extra time the application might take.

Jen has done it again! She has created such a beautiful solid collection that has a little bit of everything. I just love this collection and I can’t even pick a favorite polish out of these five shades. They are all different and I will use all of them again. The best part is there are more new summer shades and I have three more of them to show you soon enough!

ABC Challenge – Z is for Zombie Flesh

26

So here we are, last week of our ABC Challenge and the letter Z. This has been such a fun ride and I’ve really enjoyed meeting everyone :) But as we all know this is not the end and we’ll be back in business soon enough. I can’t wait for the new challenge to start, it’s gonna be so much fun!

So for the Z I chose an indie that I mostly bought for the name but boy, am I glad I did. This is Dollish Polish Zombie Flesh and it’s so cool! Yes, you think of a murky, icky green when you think of Zombies so the base color is spot on. But if you leave the zombies out of it this polish is actually quite nice. The green is a perfect color for fall and there’s also some sparkling green and gold glitter along with the black glitter.

This is two coats of Zombie Flesh and G & G HK Girl top coat.

Zombie Flesh applies perfectly (ok, that just sounds too weird…) LOL and two coats was enough for an opaque result. The finish is pretty smooth so just a coat of HK Girl was enough. It’s definitely not your girliest, prettiest polish but I really like it. I can’t wait to wear it again later on when it’s one of those beautiful, sunny fall days with falling red leaves.

Dollish Polish can be purchased from their own online store.

Jindie Nails – Candy Land (Original)

0

Today I have a classic Jindie Nails polish for you, Candy Land (Original). This must be one of the most famous Jindie Nails polishes and for a good reason. It’s just awesome! White crelly polish with a lot of different size hex glitters in several neon colors. It’s so bright and fun!

This is three thin coats of Candy Land (Original), a coat of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food and G & G HK Girl top coat.

I have read that some people had issues with the application but I experienced none. White crelly base applied very smoothly and evenly. I turned the bottle upside down for a bit before application and rolled it lightly. The neon glitter is very thin and sometimes the pieces get stuck together. If a big lump of glitter comes out of the bottle I just drop it back in there and dip the brush again. That way I had absolutely no trouble with the application.

Such a pretty polish!

I have a lot of Jindie Nails swatches coming up soon. Just received several bottles today, including some of the new summer shades and I’m gonna start working on the swatches asap :D

ABC Challenge – U is for Under the Sea

14

Time really keeps going way too fast at the moment. I feel like it’s always Wednesday and time for our weekly challenge post. I’m still super busy with the house renovation and I just really want everything to be done already. We are supposed to move in about 3 weeks. We’ll see how that goes ;)

I didn’t have too many choices for U and none of the old polishes really called my name. Instead this new purchase I was dying to try so this week I have another Crazy Polish Lady shade for you. This time it’s Under the Sea from the “Memories in Colors” collection. This is a pale aqua green crelly with turquoise, light green and white glitter. I really love the soft base color and (even if I really love my glitter bombs) it’s a nice change that this isn’t crazy packed with glitter.

This is two normal coats of Under the Sea and G & G HK Girl top coat.

Under the Sea applies really nice and smooth. Two coats is enough for opaque result and dry time is very short. Like most crellys this one also creates a lovely sandwich effect. I have been impressed with every Crazy Polish Lady polish I have tried by far. Excellent quality!

Crazy Polish Lady lives in Portugal and she ships internationally. She doesn’t have her own store yet but you can message her on her Facebook page or email her carvalho.sophie(@)gmail.com and place an order.
