St Patrick’s Day nails

8

Today I have some nail art (or fail art) done with Glitter Gal polishes I showed you on my last post. This idea looked a whole lot different in my head LOL I think I’ll do some nail art with these polishes again since they go together so well. I already have some ideas but I’m down with a flu and just had no energy to redo this manicure right now.

I used Glitter Gal Australia’s She’s Cactus, Lizard Belly, Galaxy Holo top coat and Gloss Boss top coat plus Art Club gold nail art liner for this manicure.

“All Glitter Gal Australia’s polishes are 5 free and do not contain Formaldehyde, DPB, Toluene, Formaldehyde Resin or Camphor”

OPI Brazil nail art – Part 2

8

Here’s some more nail art with OPI Brazil polishes. This time I used Live.Love.Carnaval, Just Can’t Cope-Acabana and Where Did Suzi’s Man-Go?. It didn’t end up looking as I thought it would so I added some studs. In the end I was just ok with the way these nails looked. Gradient could’ve been smoother, lines are a little wobbly and so on. But I said it before and I’ll say it again. My nail art skills are a little rusty so here we are, practising :)

Nail art on F.U.N. Lacquer thermal polish

8

Since yesterday’s heart manicure might have scarred me for life my Valentine’s Day nails don’t have hearts on them ;) Instead I decided to use F.U.N. Lacquer Secret Admirer thermal polish as a base for some nail art. I painted some flowers using white and dark pink Oumaxi acrylic paints and added some beautiful glitter, F.U.N. Lacquer Gold Mark from Christmas 2013 collection. I topped it all with HK Girl top coat.

I LOVE how this thermal looks as a base for nail art. I took a photo of a normal room temperature nails and another one with cold tips. My hand painting skills are far from perfect and I need a lot of practice but the beautiful combination of the thermal and gold glitter makes this manicure work great.

Valentine’s Day nail art

6

Here’s a manicure that made me wish I was skilled enough to kick myself ;) I can’t even begin to understand why I thought it would be a great idea to attach countless tiny pearls on my nails :D I was ready to throw the pearls out the window after the first heart. Instead I decided to be a woman about it and finish what I started. And oh how much fun that was…

Base color is Color Club Wicker Park. Hearts are done with Color Club Hot Like Lava. I painted three coats on a ziploc bag. Let it dry completely and then used a heart shaped hole puncher to cut out the hearts. I used HK Girl on top of Wicker Park and the polish hearts. I used top coat to attach the micro-pearls and rhinestones.

Rose nail art with OPI Brazil polishes

10

Here’s a quick post for Sunday :) Simple freehand roses using OPI Don’t Bossa Nova Me Around and Next Stop… The Bikini Zone from the new Brazil collection. Roses are done using a small dotting tool. Top coat is G & G HK Girl as usual.

I’m not gonna go into details about the polishes since I have reviews coming up soon. All I’m gonna say is that these two are awesome and I think I need to get the whole collection :D

Girly pirate nails and Born Pretty Store skull review

13

Today I have some 3D stud nail art for you again with a Born Pretty Store review. Since I pretty much suck at freehand nail art and I don’t like decals or stickers much then this is pretty much the only thing I can do :D I got these metal skulls (#2) to try out and I had to think for a bit about what to do with them. The obvious thing was to put on black nail polish and stick a skull on one of the nails. I wanted to do something a little more girly though and came up with this design.

The base color is OPI Chic From Ears To Tail. After that was dry I used masking tape to get straight lines on the tips and applied OPI Liquid Sand Emotions. Then I used top coat to attach round studs and the chain on the ring finger. Both of these products can also be found from Born Pretty Store. At last I added the skull. I just used top coat so I could easily remove it and save for later use. If you really want to attach it so that it stays on too you need to use glue.

Skulls are flat and they stick out on the side of the nails. So I recommend these to be used mostly on one night party manicures. If possible you should also wait till the last minute to glue the skull on to your manicure. Otherwise it will be stuck in your hair or clothes while you’re getting ready.

I think this looks great with my nail shape and using pink too made the manicure look a little more feminine but still edgy and pirate-y ;)

You can buy these skulls from Born Pretty Store and they also have a wide range of other nail art supplies. Born Pretty Store offers free worldwide shipping. Please use the code “NZL91” when you order and get extra -10% discount.

Some Summer Lovin’ for Holidays

2

It’s time for a one more Holiday manicure :) This time I used indie glitter, Polish Addict Nail Color Summer Lovin’. There’s some red and green glitter on this as well as neon pink and neon green. It’s a summer polish but in my opinion it also goes great for this time of the year. Application was perfect and dry time was fast. I used two coats of Summer Lovin’ and HK Girl top coat for this manicure

For the Christmas tree I used several different greens applied with a dotting tool. I added a star stud on the top and some micro-pearls as decorations. Quick and simple :)

Polish Addict Nail Color polishes are available at their store. International customers can shop at Mei Mei’s Signatures and UK customers have Rainbow Connection to turn to with their polish shopping needs.

Not your usual Holiday nails and Born Pretty Store pink bow review

8

Since I got to try the Glitter Gal Big Smoke polish from their Holiday in OZ collection I decided to use it as a base for a different kind of Holiday nails design. I also got some pretty pink bows with rhinestones (#K242) from Born Pretty Store to try out. I added some silver micro-pearls and rosy pink studs to the mix and this is what I came up with. I guess if you use your imagination you can call this some kind of gift package with flashy bling bling decorations design ;)

Who says Holiday nails always need to be red-green-gold/silver :P

The bows are metallic and easy to attach on the nail. They are curved instead of flat and therefore follow the shape of you nail better. I quite liked these! This time I just used a top coat to attach the decorations since I wanted to be able to remove the bows easily and stash them away for another use. If you want them to properly stay on your nail I suggest you use nail glue (tip glue) on top of your manicure to attach these bows. They are quite big and won’t stay on for long without proper glue. Just remember never to glue any decorations straight on your natural nail. Always make sure you have a few coats of polish between your natural nail and the glue.

You can buy these bows from Born Pretty Store and they also have a wide range of other nail art supplies. Born Pretty Store offers free worldwide shipping. Please use the code “NZL91” when you order and get extra -10% discount.

Mish Mash Challenge – Week 6: Hot

7

Wow! Is anyone surprised cos I’m so late with this, again *sigh*

I’m just gonna do this one nice and quick. This is one coat of Essie Licorice, one coat of OPI Baby It’s “Coal” Outside and the flames are done with OPI Liquid Sand Jinx. This manicure looked a lot better in my head than it actually did when it was ready LOL But since I already messed up my music theme mani and decided to skip the whole week I’ll just go ahead and show you this one.

Crappy photo of a crappy manicure, sowwy :P

That’s all for this one and maybe this week I can actually get my post up on time since I have already taken photos of the mani. Check back on Wed to see if a miracle happens ;D

My new nails

9

I meant to file my nails shorter and into almond shape. Then this happened…

For this manicure I used two coats of OPI A Roll In The Hague, OPI Rainbow Connection dabbed on the  the orange base and G & G HK Girl top coat.

I’ve had my nails looking like this before and I love the shape. I used to have them a lot longer too. Soon I’ll probably go for the smoother almond shape and then back to square-ish and long. I really like having my nails long, I just got tired of them looking the same way for so long. I needed a change :) I just don’t know what to call this shape LOL I know most people call these stilettos but in my opinion stilettos are longer and a bit different shape. I guess these are something between gothic almond and stilettos :P

In case there are new readers wondering about my nails, I use Cesars Secrets Builder Gel on my nails to make them stronger. I have a thin uv-gel layover on my own nails and I fix them about every two weeks to prevent having a too visible growth line. If/when I break a nail I usually use a plastic tip to maintain the length while my own nail grows back.

What do you think? Hell yes or a big NO NO? :D
