Color Club Pardon My French Collection – Part 1

3

Better late than never I guess. I finally have the pics of the Color Club Pardon My French Collection. I got these early this year but since the baby came I’ve had absolutely no time at all to swatch these until now.

This is a great collection with seven shades, four cremes and three glitter polishes.

On these photos I only have the polish on, no base or topcoat. On this post I’ll show you the creme ones and tomorrow I’ll post about the glitters.

Pardon My French (4 coats)

I believe In Amour (3 coats)
Oh Naturale (3 coats)

Take Me To Your Chateau (2 coats)

These were once again good Color Club quality. The only one I had a slight problem in application was Pardon My French and that would work better too with a little more time and patience when working with it.

Oh Naturale and I Believe In Amour are sheer ones and work great starting from the first coat. I actually prefer them better with just one coat and I’ll have to photograph them that way too.

Take Me To Your Chateau is well pigmented and is opaque with just one coat.

Monkey see monkey do ;) Polishaholic also has a Facebook page now. You can find the link on the right side of the page. Now I only have to figure out how to work with that thing ;D

In a mood for nude – Color Club’s Linen & Silk

2

Right now I love having nude nails. I spent quite some time without wearing any polish. If I do my nails I use sheer/light colors or do a basic french mani. This happens to me every now and then and passes quite quickly ;)

Color Club’s Linen & Silk is a perfect choice when I’m in a mood for nude. Light sand colored shimmer polish applies perfectly starting from the first coat and is opaque on the third coat.

In this mani I used: OPI NNS x1, Linen & Silk x2 and Seche Vite on top.

Color Club Poptastic Collection – Jackie Oh!

4

Another bright color to cheer up this cloudy and wet winter day here in Finland. Jackie Oh! is a lovely coral-y pink neon shade. This is also from the new Poptastic collection.

The quality on this one is also very good. Polish applies well and is opaque in 2-3 coats depending on the length of your nails. Seche Vite dried this one super fast. This shade isn’t a basic neon pink, it’s bright coral color and it makes me think retro-pin up when I look at it. Regardless of the crazy bright color this polish still looks elegant and will look great next to a tanned summer skin.

If these neon shades feel like a bit much to be worn on your finger nails you still might wanna get a bottle for your toes. Bright, summer-y color makes your spring toes look great and summer feels like one step closer :)

Again, the photo does not do justice to the shade. It is much brighter IRL. These neons are just too hard to photograph correctly. You have to try these yourself to know how they really look.

In this mani I used: OPI NNS x1, Jackie Oh! x2 and Seche Vite on top.

Color Club Poptastic Collection – Mrs. Robinson

3

Here’s a fun fact for you guys :P This is the first time in over a month that I have polish on my nails. Late pregnancy didn’t make me feel like doing my nails and after the baby arrived I had even less energy. After a break that long I needed an energetic shade and I chose Color Club Mrs. Robinson from their new Poptastic neon collection.

This shade is very close to the Power Play shade from their older neon collection. I don’t know if it’s cos of the age of my Power Play bottle but I can see a slight difference between these two shades. I also tested them next to each other on a piece of clear plastic and I was still able to see the difference. Unfortunately this polish is a BIG pain in the butt to photograph and my camera isn’t able to capture the subtle difference between these two shades.

The quality of this polish is excellent. It’s thin, applies like butter and is opaque with two coats. It also dries fast. This is a perfect shade for my skin tone and cos of the great quality I will be using this one more than once.

The photo does not do justice to this shade at all. It is real hot-neon-purple and the camera just sucks all the life out of it :( It might not be a truly unique shade but it sure is beautiful.

On this mani i used: OPI NNS x1, Mrs. Robinson x2 and Seche Vite on top.

I’m back once again…

I’ve been busy with my lovely little baby girl and naturally blogging has not been the first thing on my mind lately. Now I’m gonna try and have time to post something a little more often again. As you can see from the other pic I have gotten plenty of new stuff during my blogging break and I want to show them to you as soon as possible :)

Color Club Pink Lust meets bling!

5

Here’s the mani I made on New Years Eve. I got inspired by my new Dior eyeshadow and wanted my nails to be pink and silver too. The base is Color Club’s neon creme Pink Lust and the glitter is Color Club mini, Wonderland, from their Holiday collection.

In this mani I used: OPI NNS x2, Pink Lust x2, Wonderland x1 (another coat on the tips) and Seche Vite to dry it all faster.

Another addition to my Dior family!

Lovely Dior eyeshadow palette Graphic Lights arrived from garden.co.uk-online store today. I’ve been wanting this palette for a while now and I finally got around to ordering it. I actually intended to buy it last summer but I was too late trying to do so, it was already sold out on all the stores in my hometown. Thank gawd for online shopping :D Next I need to get the Electric Lights palette from the same look.

This is such a beautiful eyeshadow palette. I could just sit here and stare at it for quite a while. Perfect pink shades with a stunning silver shade. There’s so much pigment in these shades too and they are velvet-y smooth. Pure Dior perfection!

I think I just have to test this out today to celebrate New Years Even and my day off ;)

Max Factor Second Skin Foundation

0

I got a new Max Factor Second Skin Foundation to test. The shade was 075 Golden.

This shade was too dark for my fair and warm toned skin but I tested it anyways. It felt moisturizing and a small amount of it was enough for coverage. Because the shade was too dark for me I couldn’t test it out wearing it all day at work. So I can’t say much about how long it stays looking good. The time that I wore it at home it felt comfortable and didn’t start to make my skin feel dry or tight.

As you can see my cheeks are quite red, especially during the freezing winter season. The foundation was well enough pigmented to cover the redness. I believe a lighter shade of the foundation together with some red neutralizer would’ve created a flawless and smooth looking finish. This is also liquid enough to create a natural looking and not too cake-y finish.

This foundation comes in six different shades. I’ll add the INCI information below again.
