It’s Wednesday and time for our weekly ABC Challenge again. Here’s what I came up with for letter B: China Glaze Bermuda Breakaway with Color Club crackle Broken Tokens. I’m not a big fan of crackle polish and I think this is the first time ever for a crackle manicure on this blog.
China Glaze Bermuda Breakaway is a beautiful ink-y blue creme from their Bahama Blues Winter 2008 collection. So I’ve had this polish for over 4 years now and it’s still as good as new. I believe this was two coats and it was fully opaque.
Color Club Broken Tokens is a silver foil crackle polish from their 2011 Fractured collection. Since I’m not a fan I only got this to test it out and cos it looked a lot prettier than many other crackle polishes out there. It’s definitely worth keeping and I might even use it again on some nail art manicures for special effect.
This mani didn’t turn me into a big crackle fan but I still quite like how it turned out. The colors went well together and the crackle polish wasn’t applied too thickly.
Thanks for reading!
I'm not a fan of crackles either. I was in my teenage years… nobody seems to know it's such an old trend ;)
Yeah, it's been around for a while now :) I'm glad they've come up with other textured finishes now too though LOL
Every now and then I break out a crackle polish, but not often. These look cute together, though!
Thanks! I think this might have really been the first time ever for me. I used that polish on my sisters nails once before but I think that's it :D
Yes I'm with you…I loved crackle polish when it first came out and I worked like 26 hours a day :P so I never had the time to go and try to get one (because they were not easy to get here in Mexico)But now that the trend is sooo in the past they're everywhere!! The other day I accidentally bought one but I haven't tried it yet.
The combination of colors you did was really nice though! It looks nice! :)
Thanks :)) I actually hated them when they came out. Finish looked so thick and chunky on the photos. I only got this one cos it looked thinner than others. I think there's more thin ones around now too but I don't really have an interest to buy them :P
I love the color combo. Occasionally I have the urge to break out a crackle, but mine are all dried out now. Too much work to thin em. heheh
Thanks! LOL I agree, too much trouble and the result not really worth it. Besides you have all kinds of awesome indies to use so no need for crackle. It would just look boring :P
Wow! Love the blue and silver combo While crackle is my least favorite "effect", you may have well converted me over! Gorgeous effort!
Thanks Lisa! Seems like crackle is many people's least favorite effect. I guess it got so popular in the beginning cos there wasn't too many other options around.
I am no fan of crackle either but I have to say the one I like best is the silver one. I guess it's because it can work with any other. That combo is great, a little sailory :)
Thanks :) Silver really does work with almost everything :)
The color combo is very beautiful! I do enjoy crackles from time to time, it's nice to see such a pretty one again :)
Thanks :) I need to figure out another way to use this instead of applying it over the whole nail. Maybe there's a way to make it look cooler, hmm… ;D
Crackle always gets everywhere on me, or misses sports, you did a fab job!
Thanks :) This one is pretty good quality. A bit on the thick side of course, but still easy enough to apply.
Hieno yhdistelmä!
Kiitos! Joskus sitä crackle-vihaajakin lankeaa kokeilemaan ;D
I'm not a huge crackle fan either but I have a similar foil crackle and I like how they tend to have bigger cracks so the base color shows through more.
Yeah, the cracks are big enough and the crackle polish coat is not too think. It's nice but still not a "Wow! That's great" look LOL
