NARS – Zulu

2

Hello again! This is probably going to be the last two post day for now. We still have a lot to do around the house and I should have daily dates with a paintbrush. I’m also finally starting to work on my womancave so that is going to take some of my precious freetime also. I’m just so happy to finally have my own space and to move all the makeup and nail stuff out of our bedroom :)

And then to the polish. I have swatched this before but the photo isn’t very good. Since I wanted to use this as an undie to a gorgeous glitter I decided to photograph it alone first. This is the queen of green jellies, NARS Zulu. Very deep, dark green but still clearly green instead of looking black.

This is three coats of Zulu with G & G HK Girl top coat.

Zulu is a little tricky apply. There’s some balding and dragging going on. Being careful and patient with the application helps. Let each coat dry for a bit before applying the next one. I love green nail polish and I love this gorgeous jelly one too. It looks great alone and makes a nice squishy base for layering glitter.

My favorite blushes at the moment

6

I have two blushes I use way more than any others. I use these almost every time on my everyday makeup and when I want to play it safe. Theses blushes are NARS Orgasm and Torrid. They go perfectly with my warmtoned skin. Orgasm brings on the natural glowing peachy look and Torrid adds a little more color to it. I usually wear these together.

Orgasm is quite shimmery and glowing. You can’t end up with clown cheeks using this one but your cheeks can glow way too much in sunlight if you apply too heavily. Then again Torrid is very pigmented and I suggest you use a light hand applying this and check out the result in daylight before you leave home. These work together perfectly on my cheeks. First I apply contouring, then Orgasm and then the highlighter. I blend everything together smoothly and the last I add a light touch of Torrid for color.

In their pans these two look a lot alike but the swatch photo reveals the truth. Orgasm gives more of a natural glow and Torrid has a lot less shimmer and gives out a lot more color.

So these are my go-to blushes. What about you ladies, what is the blush you go for the most often?

NARS Zulu (new version)

3

Been a long time again since I wrote my last blog post. Seems I have absolutely no time for my nail addiction at the moment. Maybe spring, sunshine and longer days will fix that :)

NARS Zulu is a nail polish legend of some sort. Back in the days when it was discontinued if you could even find a bottle of Zulu, it cost you an arm and a leg on eBay. NARS brought Zulu back in a limited edition collection of popular discontinued shades and of course I took an opportunity to get myself a bottle of the green greatness too. As you might know, I’m a sucker for green

Application was good and two coats was enough for my short nails. Under a bright light tips are somewhat visible so for longer nails you might want to add a third coat. Dry time was pretty fast with Seche Vite. I did this mani yesterday and the tip wear you see in the photo is mostly cos I was in a hurry and applied Seche Vite too thickly.

My nails are still short and not an even length due to the lack of time and basically I’ve just been too lazy to take care of my hands. I think this is the first time I have color polish on my nails this year…

In this mani I used: Nail Tek II x2, Zulu x2 and Seche Vite.

Cleaning NARS cases

0

I had no time to write the post about nail art supplies that I promised you for yesterday. I’ll try and get that done for tomorrow.

I spent yesterday getting my friend ready for her 30th birthday party and had to get myself ready to go too ;)

Today I have managed to waste all my time organizing my new makeup corner. I have it almost done and ready to go so I can take pics of it for you guys.

While I was moving all my makeup to their new home I once again realized how darn dirty my NARS blush cases were. I wanted to figure out a way to get them cleaned and then I though of this Cleanser fluid (mainly alcohol) I used for wiping sticky stuff off gel nails and I decided to give it a try. Cleanser did the trick and my blush cases now look almost as if they were brand new :D

I’m so happy I found something to get those cases clean with. They feel so nice and smooth to hold but they also get dirty and nasty looking way too easy.
