Happy Monday! My blog has been pretty quiet lately but if you follow my social media accounts you know I’ve still been around. I’m going to try and write a “How I’m doing” post soon enough but let’s get the show running again with this post.
I got an opportunity to join “1 palette 10 bloggers” -challenge for Finnish beauty bloggers and I was excited to take part. The awesome idea for this challenge came from beauty blogger Charlotta Eve and pretty.fi – cosmetics webstore made it possible for us to do this.
There’s already been two palettes past two weeks on this challenge and today it’s time for NYX Professional Makeup Perfect Filter in Rustic Antique.
I have to admit I totally stayed on my comfort zone when choosing this palette. Lately I’ve been absolutely crazy over warm tone palettes like this. Rustic Antique didn’t let me down either. There’s a good amount of pigment on these shadows and they apply and blend smoothly. You can also mix the shades together to get even more variations. Very lovely palette that I will continue to use often!
If I chose the palette from my comfort zone I also stayed there with my eye makeup look. Warm tone palettes like this can really make blue eyes pop and stand out beautifully. This kind of look has very much been my go-to-look lately. I decided to do something a little different with my lipstick though to shake things up a bit.
Dark green lips were a fun addition and looked great with the shades from this palette and my red hair. I also again proved to myself that I can be forty and still play with colors ;)
I can’t even remember what shades I used where in this look. I also mixed some shadows together to create more shades. There was enough variation on this palette so that I was able to do my whole eye look with it and didn’t have to reach for another palette for more color options.
I really did like this look. Unfortunately I had again eaten something that made my allergies break out the skin on my face and it looks pretty pump-y and uneven under the foundation. You can also see my blogging break on these photos. I had really hard time taking photos I was even remotely happy with. But this is what I did and this time it has to be enough. At the end of the day I had fun and I loved taking part in this challenge.
I will list the products I used at the end of this post.

Happy hump day :D We have published the new design for my blog. Yay!! It’s been a bit quiet here lately cos I have been battling stomach problems (IBS) and food allergies. I’m learning to eat low FODMAP and I have left all the dairy and wheat out of my diet so I’m starting to feel better now. I still have a lot of food allergies to figure out though. These things will probably come up again in a few different health related blog post in future.
Today I have another Finnish cosmetics box for you. This was sent to me and I was very excited to check it out. As usual the products inside are international so I’ll give you my opinion of them on this English side of my blog too. This is a one-shot box that is available in Finland only.
I recently did some Essence shopping. I was surprised to see the Juice It! Trend Edition in the store because I thought it came out last year. Did I miss something? Did they re-release it? So I got some products from that collection and two Matt Matt Matt lip products plus a lipliner pencil.
I love just Essence! Many of their products are so good and so affordable.
I received my first ever NCLA polishes this week. I was very excited to try these cos they are my first 7-free polishes. I’ve heard nothing but good things about the brand plus their color and finish selection is amazing. I also got NCLA Treatments First Base base coat to test.
Today I’m going to talk about my battle of finding a right deodorant/antiperspirant for myself. When I was younger I didn’t need to think about this at all. I could choose anything, just find the scent I liked and it worked. After my first child my hormones must have taken over and nothing worked. I tried so many products and they failed me almost as many times.
Happy Friday!! I couldn’t help it, I just had to post this polish on a Friday :D I got this from January Ipsy Glam Bag and it was my favorite thing on that bag. So pretty!
I already showed you my favorite products in January and today it’s time for the empties. There wasn’t a ton of empties this month. I do have a lot of products that are almost out and they will probably be done and over with by the end of February. Actually, I think there’s already a bigger pile of Feb empties by now than what I have on this post.
It’s time to take a look what was inside of February Bette Box, a Finnish monthly subscription beauty box. This box is only available in Finland but the products in it are usually mostly internationally available so I might as well show you what was inside and talk about my first impressions. January box was the first ever and I was quite happy with it. At the same time I was a little nervous about this month’s box, wondering if it would live up to the expectations the January box created. I’m happy to say it did.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend! Today I have a Cucumber and Tea Tree clay face mask from Signe Seebid, hand made natural cosmetics brand from Estonia. I’m already using two products from their brand and those are excellent. So when I placed my order for more of their amazing orange sugar scrub I added two new-to-me products to my order. Here’s the first one of them. I think Signe Seebid products are only available in Estonia and Finland at the moment. I still want to show this to you in case there’s a chance these lovely products will be available internationally later on.
