It’s a new year and what better time to start writing monthly favorites posts again than this? So here are the products I really liked and used a lot during January.

TARTE MARACUJA OIL

I got this from my December Ipsy Glam Bag and I absolutely love it! It’s moisturizing but not greasy and doesn’t leave my skin looking oily. I can even use this under makeup. It doesn’t have a strong scent either. This oil comes in an adorable glass bottle with a dropper so it’s also very easy to use and you get just the right amount of oil. According to the package you can also use it for your cuticles, condition your hair and hydrate rough patches.

My skin has been super dry lately so I’m going through this bottle much faster than I should. Unfortunately I only got a small 7 ml (0.23 Fl. Oz) bottle and it’s going to be difficult getting another one shipped to Finland. So after I’m done with this I most likely will have to look elsewhere for my facial oil needs.

BIOZELL PROFESSIONAL COLOR MASK ROOT COLOR SPRAY FOR RED HAIR

I dyed my hair red a while ago and since my natural color is ash-y blonde the roots start showing really fast. That is where this intensive red root spray comes in handy. The color will stay till the next wash. This gives some lift for your roots too  and works as dry shampoo but I usually use this with Batiste dry shampoo to get extra volume. When you spray this on your roots you have to pay attention to the application so you don’t turn your forehead red while you’re at it :D This will also mess your fingers but washes off easily. Great find to keep my lighter roots under control in between the dye jobs.

RIMMEL LONDON BRONZE PERFECTION SCULPTING BRONZING POWDER DUO IN LIGHT/MEDIUM (**PR-sample**)

I don’t really use this for sculpting but more to give a subtle glow and warmth to my skin.  The darker, bronzer side is really good shade for me for these pale winter months. It’s close to Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Blush Palette’s Lo-Fi shade which I love, love, love! This is not crazy pigmented but that is what makes it so good for every day use when you don’t need to really contour your face to perfection. The texture is a little hard so you don’t get much product on your brush with a light swipe. But all in all I’ve been using this all winter and I really like it.

COLOURPOP LIPPIE STIX IN MOSH PIT (MATTE)

ColourPop Lippie Stix are pretty much my favorites right now. Especially their matte formula. They don’t dry my lips, staying power is great and the color selection, wow! I bought this quite a while ago and I think after testing it once I just forgot about it. Now, in January I went for Mosh Pit several times actually. This mid-tone warm brown looks great with my skin tone and I just love the 90’s vibes it has. I love it! Nothing else to it :D

AVON MAGIX PRIME AND SET SPRAY

I purchased this super cheap, less than 4 euros (about the same in USD) for a 125 ml bottle and it’s totally worth the money. I usually don’t use setting sprays. Just MAC Prep+Prime Fix+ to take the powdery look off my face. I’ve used this several times now and it really does keep my foundation looking good longer. It leaves the skin matte but not powdery looking. I can feel it on my skin a tiny bit but it’s nothing that would bother me. I don’t know if I’d recommend this for a really dry skin though. I have a combination skin that tends to get oily on the T-zone during the day. I haven’t tried this for prepping the skin, just for setting the makeup and for that it works great. There’s really not much scent to this and the little that there is goes away as it dries. Very good for the price.

MAYBELLINE THE FALSIES PUSH UP ANGEL MASCARA

This mascara doesn’t really do a huge wow-effect. It gives a lovely separated and natural look to my lashes. Doesn’t add much volume or length. So why is this on my monthly favorites post you might ask.

Well, it’s because this is the best lower lash mascara I’ve ever tried. The small, comb like brush gets every lash on your lower lash line. It’s so easy to get a nice result and not make a mess at all. I’m that person who always makes a mess doing her lower lashes. With this mascara … no problem! I will definitely get another one just for my lower lashes after this one runs out. That little brush makes all the difference. Try it if you don’t believe me!

So here were my first monthly favorites for 2017. Have you tried any of these products?

***Rimmel London Bronze Perfection Duo was a PR-sample. Everything else was purchased by me
